The Strategic Heritage Plan - a major construction project to renovate the facilities at the Palais des Nations, home of the United Nations Office at Geneva, and build a new building on the premises.
As January comes to a close and we take a step closer to spring, Building H, built as part of the Strategic Heritage Plan UN Geneva looks magnificent in its wintery landscape. This “green building”, integrated into the Ariana Park landscape, includes a glass façade that offers optimum advantage of natural light and reduces electricity use, benefitting not only its occupants, but also the environment. Thanks to Chris De Santis for the great photos.
The Assembly Hall UN Geneva was first equipped with a simultaneous interpretation system, donated by the United States of America ahead of it's inauguration on 25 September 1937. Almost 90 years later, 2024 will see the historic room reopened following the renovation works as part of the Strategic Heritage Plan. Modern conference facilities will allow the important work of the United Nations to continue
