Interior design doesn't have a right or wrong checklist in my opinion. Homes are made to be lived in, used and cherished.
Simplicity is key in all of my design and I truly believe a home is a place that allows you to move around freely and where the design elevates when being used.
I love the new movement on instagram where we show homes as they are and not the overly styled setting. Although I find it very interesting to see minimal designs, I even more often find it inspiring to see how people live and use their homes. How do you feel about this?

This bedroom is just so calm and airy!
The client wanted a very minimal feel for the bedroom with the grey color adding depth to the white furniture. The main goal was to create a calm bedroom with storage space for the couple without the bedroom feeling clustered and heavy ❇️

I always tell my clients that introducing colors can be done tastefully without the colors overpowering the room and the furniture 🎨
A gradual way to introduce colors in your home is by adding textiles as your color source. It is not a big commitment and it can easily be redone ❇️

Natural tones are my go to when working in an overly white apartment. The curtains in this house instantly gave a more cohesive and warm feeling to the rest of the interior.
The only detail left for this hallway is a lamp ❇️

Last week I was finally able to get some photos of this project. My client contacted me in the early fall and needed help with color scheme, floor planning and styling tips. She had a very strong vision, but wanted to make sure it would translate into the real world the best possible way ❇️

I guess consistency isn't my strength at the moment. Life has a funny tendency of getting in the way sometimes☺️
I took a short break from Instagram to focus on my ongoing projects, my job and to celebrate my birthday. But now I am back and ready to show you pictures again. Pictures of my own home and projects. When I asked what you wanted to see the most, you gave me mixed signals and although I love to share projects I also love to show my own home.
I hope you have been able to enjoy the transition from summer to autumn and are ready to enjoy this beautiful season while bringing in the "hygge".

Your personal style won't disappear just because you seek help from an Interior Designer.
Whenever I meet with clients the most important thing for me is to get to know their needs and style. My job is then to showcase and translate that into a well designed living space that fulfills all of my clients dreams.
In this specific project, I knew I wanted to activate the wall in a subtle yet partial way and let the client decorate the shelves with their personal items. I feel strongly about a house being meant to live in, not to look like a interior magazine.

The wonderful thing about being an interior designer is that I get to work with different styles, color schemes and visions. In this specific photo I only helped by adding a bit of color to the design. No need to say that this chair is a classic and maybe one of the most iconic chairs ever made 😉
