Located in Côte d'Ivoire, the Green Valley agro-tourism complex extends over 50,000 m2 in the middle of 70 hectares of rubber, palm and cocoa plantations, and enjoys an exceptional ecosystem including ponds of fish farm and a natural lake fed by several rivers. A nature outing particularly popular with Abidjan families, the site offers a variety of fun and sporting attractions suitable for all ages: fishing, mountain biking, hiking, playground for children (entertainment, castles, swings, etc.) and adults (baby -football, petanque, etc.), picnic areas... But the heart of its activity consists in raising awareness of respect for the environment and introducing city dwellers to Ivorian agricultural know-how. An educational tour of about an hour in the company of a guide allows you to discover plantations of cocoa trees, rubber trees and palm trees, crops for which Côte d'Ivoire is famous. The chocolate eater who has never seen a cocoa pod in his life will then be able to familiarize himself with all the facets of the profession of cocoa producer, from harvesting to drying the beans, passing through the bleeding of the rubber trees... before find them on the restaurant menu. Paradoxically, at the level of the complex itself, it's a bit "concrete party" on all floors and a mixture of colors to give sight to a blind person. In Ayamé, not far from Abidjan, stands an unusual architectural curiosity erected by Ivorian lawyer, Maître Dominique Kanga . This African Chateau de Versailles and its French-style garden are perched on a hill surrounded by forest overlooking an artificial lake. Furnished in the “Louis XIV” style, the incredible building stands on four levels and includes eight bedrooms including a presidential suite. This haven of peace and luxury offers a panoramic view of the lake, Ayamé also includes a row of lounges and a dining room with a table that can accommodate 80 guests! It even has a theatre, a chapel, a huge reception room surmounted by a 21 m high dome, and an elevator to access the different floors. All rooms are carefully decorated and furnished with antique furniture. Each corner of this palace tells a story of its builder, Me Kanga, whom some Ivorians considered megalomaniac and whimsical because of his tastes. He was also a true art lover, whose collection in his palace will make any visitor fall in admiration before so much beauty. 📸: 🇨🇮
