is a deadly disease that kills thousands of people and animals in Africa every year. It is transmitted by dogs, which often carry the virus without showing symptoms.
Research has shown that mass vaccination of dogs 🐕💉 can eliminate locally. Dog vaccination programmes are still rare in Africa, but are essential if the goal of eliminating by 2030 is to be achieved.
Researchers from the Afrique One consortium and others have conducted a cost-benefit analysis of coordinated rabies control strategies in Africa. The results of this analysis showed that eliminating canine in Africa would have significant human and animal health benefits. It would save lives, improve public health and reduce economic costs.
Dog vaccination campaigns could generate total welfare gains of $9.5 billion over the next 30 years.

remains a major public health challenge in Côte d'Ivoire, with nearly 40% of patients failing to complete preventive treatment. Every year, 20 people lose their lives to the disease, not including unreported cases.
With the support of the Afrique One consortium, the BockRabies project has developed a revolutionary digital application to collect data on rabies, improve communication between sectors and ensure the traceability of vaccines using blockchain technology.
This breakthrough promises to speed up treatment, reduce treatment costs and save lives by ensuring rapid access to vaccines.
