Beloved today on Youth Forum, we looked at "Pressures in Singlehood, mistakes and the way forward". Pastor Toge Frank was our guest.
Pressures in Singlehood can come form parents, friends, colleagues and even fellow Christians. Once a girl or boy is above 25 years, what is expected of him or her is marriage. People start asking and others make negative comments.
We were able to establish that marriage is not a fulfilment of purpose.
It is better to wait for long than be marry to the wrong person. It is better to be slow and sure than fast and you fall.
Marriage is not an assembly hall, "late coming" is allowed, for it is better late and right than early and wrong.
Some possible mistakes singles can commit in the phase of these pressures include:
-To rush ahead of God into marriage, -have s*x to prove love, - get pregnant to tie a man down and even decieve yourself that you can change him or her.
Be yourself, trust God and keep praying.
While waiting, do the following:
1. Be happy alone
2. Focus on building yourself
3. Find satisfaction in God
4. Understand that marriage is not a final stop.
As you wait on the Lord, intentionally build your character and pursue your purpose.

We had a great time at the radio today during Women of the Bible. We looked at two characters "Rahab and Deborah" You can read about these women in Joshua 2 and Judges Chapters 4 and 5.
The lessons learnt from these two personalities:
A. Rahab

* Rahab took a great risk and received a great reward. She saved herself and family.
*The principle of reciprocity and integrity. Keeping to her own side of the promised made with the men from Israel
*She took action and accepted responsibility
*There is No sin to great for God not to forgive. He is a merciful God. Lam. 3:22-23

B. Deborah

*Deborah stands as an encouragement to all women
*She was a selfless leader concerned about her people.
*Wise leaders surround themselves with the right people
*Men and women can work together for God regardless of roles
*Women have a great role to play in the society. They are good leaders....
There are many other lessons we can learn from their stories...Take your time and read about them.

Beloved it was another powerful edition of Dew of Hermon 2 over CBC Radio today Thursday 9 July. We had as guest, Pastor Che Narcisse, Pastor of Grace Baptist Mission Station, Long Street, Small Soppo.
Topic "Hunger for God"
Scriptural texts: Psalm 27:4, 42:1, 63:1, Phil. 3:9-10, Matt.5:6
Believers are expected to have a strong desire after God. We hunger after God in different areas ( prayer, fasting, Evangelism etc)
When trouble and anxiety of life weighs a Christian down, and you feel the dryness and emptiness of life, Only in God can you be refreshed.
Sometimes people are more of activities oriented and we need to understand that after service, fellowship with God is required. There can be no effective service without effective fellowship with God.
*Rev. 3:10-17 talks of lukewarm
*Eph 5:14- sleeping in the things of God (lesser commitment in the things of God)
A Christian needs to understand that Sin weakens spiritual fellowship with God.
*Isa. 40:30
-Hunger for God begins with a strong desire
-Set a spiritual goal and vision
-Have personal time of fellowship with God
-Associate with people of like passion
-Flee from sin

Today's edition of Dew of Hermon 2 we had as topic "Mature Christian vs. Infant or baby Christian"
Rev. Nji David Pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church Molyko was guest. After looking at the characteristics of both personalities in the Church, we concluded by answering the question "What does it take to grow unto maturity?"
* Be born again. Unbelievers cannot grow unto maturity no matter how long they have been in a congregation. They can gain good morale and some even hold positions in the congregation.
Only those who are born again can grow unto maturity. After you must be born again, you have Divine resources for growth and a desire or will to grow. Divine resources consist of God's Word and His Spirit to help you grow. 2 Peter 1:3-5.
Believers ought to grow in grace and by God's grace, they will be able to overcome sin and worldly passion.
Apart from the Divine factor, we have human factor. You need to have the desire or will to grow. By intentionally spending time with God. Your environment also has a role to play in your growth. Discipleship and mentorship are also enabling factor for growth.
We concluded to say instructions, rebuke and discipline are all part of maturity.
Relevant texts: Hebrew 5:14, Titus 2: 11-12
