The import figures reveal a reliance on external sources, with approximately 20,000 tons coming from China and 60,000 tons from Mauritania. These imports collectively constitute an average of 50% of the total volume of fish imports in Cameroon. The high demand and substantial reliance on international suppliers underscore the economic significance of the fish industry in Cameroon, presenting both opportunities and challenges for domestic and foreign stakeholders.
