The joint YaBiNaPa-CECANAPROF seminar took effectively place on Wednesday September 27, 2023 at 2.00 pm at the HTTC of the University of Yaoundé 1. During this seminar, Mr. TCHOKOKAM Romuald Yvan presented his research work on ''Enhanced Correlation-Based Linking of Biosynthetic Gene Clusters to their metabolic products trough Chemical Class Matching''. Mr. NGUEONKOU Maxime and Ms. DEMEUNI Cynthia also presented their research work.

The MSc students of the CECANAPROF research Hub are currently taking part to the 2023 CONFAYS conference organised by the Cameroon Academy of Young Scientists. The conference will take place from 27 to 28 September 2023 at Yaoundé and is focused on Interdisciplinarity, Digitalization and Technological Advancement for Sustainable Development

As previously announced, Dr NGANDJUI Yvan Anderson was awarded the third prize at the Falling Walls Lab. South Africa. He successfully break the Walls of antimicrobial Resistance. Congrats

The joint YaBiNaPa-CECANAPROF seminar took place on Wednesday September 20, 2023 at 2.00 pm at the HTTC of the University of Yaoundé 1. During this seminar, Mr. Mbarga Paul, Mr. Mabounda Marc and Ms. Rasoanirina Michella presented their research work. The seminars will continue next week.

Dr NGANDJUI Yvan Anderson and Mr DIBOULOUL Patrick from our research team were selected for the Falling Walls Lab Cameroon and South Africa. Their presentation will focus on Breaking the walls of Antimicrobial Resistance.
The competition will take place on Friday, 22 Sept in South Africa and Saturday, 23 Sept at Goethe Institute Cameroon.

Mr Dibouloul Patrick, a PhD student of the CECANAPROF presented his research work during the 8th Life Science Conference of the Cameroon Forum for Biological Sciences held at the University of Dschang from 02-04 August 2023.
He was awarded with a prize for his poster presentation.

Dr ANOUMEDEM MOUAFO Élodie Gisèle defended her PhD on April 11, 2023 on the "Chemical constituents of three endophytic fungi: simplicillium subtropicum harboured in duguetia staudtii (ANNONACEAE) and two new diaporthe sp. Isolated from Trema guineensis (ULMACEAE); Antibacterial activity and cytotoxicity of selected compounds. ".

The Fungus and Plant Natural Products Laboratory (EPlaNaProLab) is a research laboratory located at the Department of Chemistry, Higher Teacher Training College, University of Yaounde 1 whose activities are focused on the search for bioactive secondary metabolites from natural resources, in particular plants and fungi. It is subdivided into two research sections, the first of which is oriented towards phytochemistry and the second towards microbiology. Our research approach is based on the bio screening of these resources, follow by the bio-guided fractionation to identify active resources and to isolate new compounds with potential for the treatment of infectious diseases. Researchers working in our group develop skills in analytical chemistry, spectroscopy/spectrometry, and organic chemistry.
