Sodium butyrate, as a non-antibiotic growth promoting feed additive, has multiple functions such as strong food attractant, gastrointestinal physiological regulator, acidifier and electrolyte balance regulator, which can improve the body immunity and production performance, and can also replace some antibiotics.

It is generally recognized that the neonate does not produce an adult complex of digestive , and so digestibility is somewhat impaired. This situation is further complicated by the change in nutrient substrate of lipid and protein in the embryo to quite complex carbohydrates, proteins and lipids in conventional starter diets. So even though chicks grow quite rapidly in the first few days of life, there is the idea that this could be further enhanced by use of a prestarter. Prestarters therefore, either pre-condition the chick such that it can digest complex substrates and/or provide more (or more highly digestible) substrates until the chick’s enzyme production has ‘matured’.

Ventilation for daily management of broilers
Due to the high body temperature, fast breathing, vigorous metabolism and high stocking density of broilers, the oxygen consumption of the chicken house gradually increases with the age of the broilers. Coupled with the increase of metabolites, the harmful gases produced by f***s are also increasing, which makes the air in the chicken house dirty. If ventilation is not timely, it is easy to induce respiratory diseases and affect growth performance.
The purpose of ventilation is to remove the foul waste gas in the chicken house in time, introduce fresh air from the outside, maintain the oxygen content specified in the chicken house, reduce dust in the air, and adjust the indoor temperature and humidity. The standard of fresh air is oxygen > 20%, ammonia < 20 cubic centimeters / cubic meter, and relative humidity < 70%.
Ventilation in the early stage of feeding: The first week is mainly based on natural ventilation. From the beginning of picking up the chicks, open the skylight as the exhaust port, and use the preheated air in the partition as the intake port.
Ventilation in the mid-breeding period: After two weeks to five weeks ago, the floor windows were mainly used as air intakes for natural ventilation.
Ventilation in the later period of rearing: After five weeks of age, the ventilation should be gradually increased. The main factors that induce intestinal problems in laying hens
(1) Nutritional factors: the nutrition is not balanced, the crude fiber content in the feed is too high, the protein content is low, especially the lack of essential amino acids, the insufficient content of mineral elements and vitamins.
(2) Parasitic infection: It is usually secondary to coccidiosis, which causes intestinal mucosal damage after infection, opens the door for pathogenic microorganisms and intestinal toxic substances, and causes infection of intestinal pathogenic bacteria.
(3) Drinking water pollution: After a long period of use, the drinking water system of the chicken farm will form some scale and stick some harmful substances (including pathogenic bacteria), which will reduce the water flow capacity and water quality, and cause the chicken's intestinal health imbalance.
(4) Feed mycotoxins and biogenic amines: Mycotoxins can increase intestinal fragility, reduce epithelial strength, damage the liver, reduce the absorption of fat in the lower part of the intestine, reduce feed utilization, and cause hypoproteinemia and bursa of Fabricius. Degeneration, which in turn causes severe immunosuppression.
