🌍 Revolutionizing Geological Exploration with Visible Light Photogrammetry
Traditional geological exploration involves on-site investigations to study rocks, strata, minerals, groundwater, and landforms. However, the complexity and diversity of geological features often result in long project durations and high manual costs.
Using SHARE aerial photogrammetry solutions, we collect image data that, after further processing, can generate 3D models of with precise geolocation. These models provide essential data for resource estimation and ore mixing.
Key Steps in Our Process:
· Initial Data Collection: Utilizing the SHARE camera for circular flights to capture basic data of cliff faces.
· Flight Route Planning: Using the rough model to plan detailed photogrammetry flight routes. Images are collected at a distance of 35 meters using the 100M PRO camera with a , achieving a resolution of 2.5mm.
· Efficient Imaging: camera’s efficiency allowed us to complete the collection of 327 images in just 20 minutes, with vibrant and uniform color quality.
· Data Processing: We completed aerotriangulation in 3 minutes and 3D reconstruction of a 19,378 sqm cliff face at 2.5mm resolution in 2.5 hours. The model achieved a , meeting surveying-grade standards.
The resulting provides fundamental geological parameters such as structure, dip, and elevation directly from the model. Further software and database comparison can determine lithology and stratify rock layers.

In another valuable collaboration, our team had the opportunity to provide on-site technical support to in . By 10 a.m., the sunlight was already intensely strong, a condition that could easily lead to overexposure, resulting in blurred photos and flawed 3D models.
Working closely with the SkyShine team, we tackled this challenge head-on by adjusting our settings. By dynamically configuring shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and color mode based on onsite lighting conditions and flight routes, we optimized light intake to ensured the accurate capture of terrestrial features and colors for precise 3D reconstruction.

In March, our team traveled to Indonesia to provide on-site technical support for Halo Robotics. Interestingly, we were met with rainy weather and unstable lighting conditions, which are far from ideal for aerial photogrammetry.
Yet, with the adaptability of our Aerial Oblique Cameras, these weather challenges were no match for us. Adjusting settings and slowing down shutter speed allowed us to maintain essential brightness during capture. With the combined power of five distinct lens angles, we efficiently obtained detailed and vibrant-colored images and produced accurate models in one go.
