Killing pigs at the arrival of the Chinese Lunar New Year is an important custom in Chinese rural areas during the Spring Festival. On that day, the host family invites close relatives and friends to share the pork, not only to get in touch with each other, but also to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year.

I went to the countryside to visit my grandparents last weekend.
