Nunu's Treats
Ayurveda based Wellness Coaching
Did you know that moringa is a draught resistant subtropical plant so rich in protein, vitamins A, B, C , calcium and iron, with antispasmatic and anti-inflammatory properties, that it's been used and called to treat malnutrition the world over?
Here we eat it in our salads mixed with Katuk everyday for lunch and dinner, with a homemade dressing on top. I never miss the romain or kale and I know I'm boosting my immune system.

My quarantine message for you: the fear is not for you. So why listen to it? Why feed it? Go inward.
This message from source woke me up at 4 in the morning last Tuesday. So I texted the only friend I knew going to the border that day (or anytime soon) and told her not to leave without us. I packed out bag, prepared my son and said goodbye to my parents, who we had been visiting in Costa Rica. We set off for Nicaragua unsure how we would be received or if the community I had just emailed, would let us in.
That's how I got here, living free, learning and growing everyday. Staying grounded and well with nourishing foods, yoga, nature and meditation (to name a few.)
The world is going from its caterpillar to its chrysalis phase. Transformation is coming for those who are listenin @ Ometepe Island, Nicaragua
Riding this shift between heaven and earth. Staying grounding with nourishing food, yoga, nature, meditation and community.
I have been taking a course in Ayurveda based health coaching, drawing from my experience as a healer. The course is based on integrating ten habits into your life.
But Kanunu and I just took a tremendous leap, crossed the border from Costa Rica and entered into a very special community on Ometepe right before it shut its doors. I'm feeling light, supported and grounded.
Health, wellness and growth are about the habits you do daily but also the leaps you take.
If you are feeling worried, isolated fearful or needing perspective and interested in talking and or becoming part of a virtual community of those committed to finding perspective, balance and thrive in these crazy times, let me know. I will be leading this community. I will also be available for 1 on 1 calls. There are deep lessons to be learned, huge transformations to be made and so much light to gain. Let's ride this wave together!🦋🌈💚
I'm sharing this photo because I feel happy, I feel sexy and I feel free. I have my little man by my side and I'm enjoying this beautiful place called Nosara with clear eyes.
I've just spent the weekend with an amazing group of humans. I would say, if there is one way to describe them it would be "trust in life." They travel, love and move with the faith that they will be supported as long as they keep opening to love, growth and light.
They don't pay attention to bad news that they can do nothing about. They embrace those they are with because that's all they really have in the present moment.
And they make fun and laughter a priority.
After walking out of a 6 year dance with death, paying for crimes I had yet to commit. I close the door on fear again and again and again. I embrace opportunity in all it's forms. And I chose love again and again because I'm worth it. We all are.
Nicaragua, Your raw, real and breathtakingly beautiful. We feel loved and wanted here. I never feel more gratitude for all this life has given me and the impulse to use these gifts for good: to empower and to impact positively, than when I am in your presence. So here we will stay. (It's been a long time coming:)
If you are feeling drawn to Nicaragua as well, keep a look out here for upcoming massage trainings and yoga retreats. Or you can send me an email for all things wellness and Nicaragua.(link in bio)

Calling all water protectors, water benders, lovers of water and our dear Mother Earth...
This is the border between Mexico and Guatemala. It was still quiet before the hustle and bustle of the work day. Church bells were ringing in the distance and the water muted the sounds and movements of people crossing the river on giant inner tubes. I was feeling deeply at peace in this scene when a trans lady in her red dress and lipstick passing in the other direction, greeted me in Spanish and English as if to say "why aren't you saying good morning" and snapped me out of my Soon my peace between two countries was tested, when the Guatemalan authorities refused to let us pass because we didn't have an exit stamp from Mexico. And Mexico wouldn't give us an exit stamp because we didn't have entrance stamps (no one was checking passports when we crossed into Tecate from the U.S. a month a go and the only guy around, just waved us thru). I carry this picture of Mario in my passport and when I opened it this morning, he reminded me all would be okay. I took each step with this knowing and after a few hours of negotiations we were on our way. We are all just travelers on this planet. If you find yourself getting to attached to your beliefs and ideologies, it's time to get up, go out and take a look around. travel -crossing @ Ciudad Hidalgo, Chiapas
In Latin America, you never eat alone. There is always someone to share your food with. There is always somebody hungry who could use the nourishment. And this is the reality of the world, so easy to forget living behind the wall of the U.S.
The Yamas and Niyamas, how to treat others and how to treat yourself as recorded by the honorable Patanjali. Guidelines to live by. Welcome to the path of yoga.
Me, pointing to the rock wall I just scaled without ropes. Im a bad ass and have little patience for the comfortable and small minded but I also have intuition that guides me on every adventure. When you find yourself too comfortable, it's good to change perspectives, change places and test your limits. And if your not sure where to start, you can talk to me. In the next few months I'll be organizing a group of budding bad asses, dedicated to getting out of their comfort zones, living raw and real lives and embracing their inner shine because life is too short and you got this!

Standing hear, on the eve of our departure from Alaska, I give thanks to the land of the Chilkoot, Chilkat and Klukwan, to the community of Haines and to the people who have supported us and made our time here posible. Most of all, I acknowledge Mario Julian Benassi as the reason we were able to come to Alaska and I was given a new chance on a life less ordinary. Thru Mario's presence and sound healing my being received this new destiny. Although I did not repay him for this priceless gift, in this life, I make it my mission to pay it forward from here on. I have a feeling we will be back sooner than expected

A magical night, bathed in silence, as we tiptoe down the hill to bare witness to nature's soft white gifts.
Life in a school bus with a chimney, kitchen, bed and easy chair= home. This is where our feet have landed and hopefully for a long time. Soon we move into the tiny (not so tiny) house next door, pictured in final photo. It will be so nice to finally unpack our suitcases. And just in time for the AK winter to set in. Let a new adventure in single motherhood unfold. P.S. It’s not a crime to be a single mom nor a permanent sentence. It’s just hard AF. Have you hugged a women raising the future on her own today?
Getting up in darkness and watching the sunrise each morning a little later as the North Pole turns to darkness during this period of the earths journey around the sun. I celebrate the light in this life’s journey and so must I explore the darkness in my being.
Pretty much sums up my mood on the last day of the Alaska State fair. Happy it was over, glad to not be sleeping in a parking lot anymore, surrounded by Maga merchandise wearing sheep and the smoke of millions of acres of forests burning.
But I do realize that is the reality of our times. Trump just passed a bill to drill for oil in the coastal region of Alaska’s Arctic Wildlife Refuge. The plan is to aggressively develop an area, that has been closed to such interference for decades, for oil and gas extraction.
Why is this any different than any other pipeline? Because this is the country’s and world’s last and only in tact eco system, where nature still exists in harmony with out the interference of man. There are few of us now who have not witnessed the effects of global warming and nature degradation thru elevated temperatures and natural disasters. Its time to stand NOW for the inheritance of our children and for our mother
May we all float like this little one, forgetting about gravity for some moments, remembering how good life is.
When you have kids it seems sometimes a lot harder to get out in nature but it’s all the more important to do it for their sanity and your own. When you have kids it seems easier to cut corners and go with the convenience but it’s all the more important that we use our votes, our decisions and our dollars to preserve nature for their future as well as our present.
Today was an unforgettable day, that started out with arguing and temper tantrums, followed by me literally dragging him part of our 1.5 mile walk to the glacier. It ends with a sense of serenity and awe. I find myself giving thanks for each if you that makes our life a little richer as my little man sleeps soundly and contentedly.

The view from our backyard for the next few weeks. It will do:) The air is so clear here and the energy too.
