Συνάντηση στο χώρο στάθµευσης του ΜΕΤΡΟ στην
Λακατάµια στις 7:15 και αναχώρηση στις 7:30. Θα
ποδηλατίσουµε µέσω Δευτεράς και Ψιµολόφου προς τη Ρώσικη Εκκλησία για το καφεδάκι µας. Η επιστροφή µας θα γίνει από τα Πέρα Ορεινής και από το όµορφο οροπέδιο που θα µας οδηγήσει στο Τσέρι και πίσω στο σηµείο εκκίνησης µας.
Πιθανόν να µεταβούµε στο
φράγµα Ταµασού.

Φίλοι ποδηλάτες, πήραμε την απόφαση για τον φετινό Ιουλίου να αναστείλουμε τις ημερήσιες ποδηλασίες των Σαββατοκύριακων λόγω των πολύ ψηλών θερμοκρασιών. Οι νυχτερινές μας ποδηλασίες της Τετάρτης θα πραγματοποιούνται κανονικά.

Όμορφη βουνίσια διαδρομή, ξεκινάμε από την Πλατεία Τροόδους και περνάμε από το μονοπάτι της φύσης Περσεφόνης με κατεύθυνση την αρχή του μονοπατιού Τροόδους Καληδόνια. Μετά θα περάσουμε προς την μεριά του Προδρόμου που θα τον έχουμε στα αριστερά μας και θα καταλήξουμε στον φράχτη Προδρόμου. Από εκεί θα ανηφορήσουμε για την Πλατεία Τροόδους για τερματισμό και να απολαύσουμε το καφεδάκι μας.

Troodos – Kalidonia – Prodromos Reservoir

Beautiful mountain route, we start from Troodos Square and pass through the Persephone nature trail towards the beginning of the Troodos Kaledonia trail. Then we will pass towards the side of the Prodromos which we will have on our left and we will end up at the fence of the Prodromos. From there we will go up to Troodos Square to finish and enjoy our coffee.

Minimum time to complete the route: 4 hours

Συγκεντρωνόμαστε στο χώρο στάθμευσης "Κολοκάση" στις 19:45 και ξεκινούμε στις 20:00 ακριβώς.

Κάνουμε τον καθιερωμένο γύρο στο κέντρο της παλιάς Πόλης και στη συνέχεια κατευθυνόμαστε σε διάφορες περιοχές της μείζονος Λευκωσίας και τερματίζουμε και πάλι στο χώρο στάθμευσης "Κολοκάση".

Θα υπάρχει μια εθελοντική ομάδα (marshals) για να διευκολύνει τη διακίνηση των ποδηλατών κατά την διάρκεια της "Βόλτας" και παρακαλούνται όλοι να ακολουθούν τις οδηγίες τους για την ομαλή και ασφαλή διεξαγωγή της Ποδηλασίας μας.

Η συμμετοχή στις ποδηλασίες του Ομίλου "Ποδηλάτες Λευκωσίας" γίνεται με ευθύνη του εκάστοτε συμμετέχοντα.
ΥΠΟΧΡΕΩΤΙΚΉ η χρήση ποδηλατικού κράνους, η χρήση φώτων (μπρος-πίσω) τις βραδινές ώρες, ανακλαστήρων και ύπαρξη ειδικού καμπανακιού στα ποδήλατα.
Ο Όμιλος "Ποδηλάτες Λευκωσίας" δεν φέρει καμία ευθύνη στην περίπτωση αν ποδηλάτης δεν τηρεί τις πρόνοιες της νομοθεσίας.

World Bicycle Day, June 3, 2024 - Nicosia Bike Ride: The Capital from a Different Perspective

The Non-Governmental Organization for Positive Urbanism (OPU), with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works Sustainable Mobility Cyprus .22 , and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Cyprus etherlandsincyprus , Baker Tilly Baker Tilly Cyprus as well as various other stakeholders related to cycling Ποδηλάτες Λευκωσίας - Podilates Lefkosias, Ratio cycling club and Coffee is preparing to celebrate World Bicycle Day by offering a unique experience for the residents of Greater Nicosia. On Monday, June 3, 2024, the day of the event, OPU is organizing a bike ride connecting the historic core of Strovolos with the center of the capital, along with additional informational and recreational activities aimed at promoting cycling and alternative uses of bicycles.

The bike ride will start at the Strovolos Municipal Library(cafe nero), traverse the linear park, continue through the narrow streets of the historic center of Nicosia, and finish in the surrounding area of the 360 building near Makarios III Avenue.

At the finish point , participants will have the opportunity to watch the documentary “The Engine Inside,” which explores the various uses of bicycles across different continents of the world.

By participating in the ride, the citizens of Greater Nicosia will have the chance to enjoy the capital from an alternative perspective. The event also aims to raise public awareness about the multiple benefits of using bicycles for urban transportation and the need to create safe bike paths that connect the suburbs with the city center.

The bike ride is open to individuals of almost all ages, starting from age 12 to senior citizens, both experienced and novice cyclists. There will be a limited number of rental bicycles available from Nextbike CY (free of charge)
Participants are encouraged to bring their own helmets and lighting.

Υπουργό Ενέργειας που μας τίμησαν με την παρουσία τους, τις ποδηλατικές ομάδες Ποδηλατικός Όμιλος Γερίου Geri Bicycle Club, Ποδηλατικό Τμήμα Άμυνα, και Nautilos Cycling Club για την συμμετοχή τους, όπως και την Αστυνομική Δύναμη Κύπρου και όλους εσάς τους ποδηλάτες που τιμήσατε τη μέρα αυτή και στείλαμε όλοι μαζί το μήνυμα ότι ΕΙΜΑΣΤΕ ΚΑΙ ΕΜΕΙΣ ΕΔΩ και ΖΗΤΟΥΜΕ να μοιραζόμαστε το δρόμο με ΣΕΒΑΣΜΟ, ΑΣΦΑΛΕΙΑ & ΠΡΟΣΟΧΗ.
