What is typically waking up your Drama Lama and how does it feel in the body when it needs care and attention? How can we stay connected to a sense of trust and safety in our relationships, while also exploring the world outside of them? What will Drama Lama need from you to stay connected to yourself?

And what does it mean to expand our sense of attachment to groups, communities, cultures and the natural world around us?

Through discussion, movements and touch, we get curious about all our differences in the dance of love, intimacy, safety, autonomy and sense of freedom.

About the facilitators

We have been a couple for 7 years and living together on and off. We are excited to host this workshop based on our own experinces and insights from being in a long term non-monogamous relationship.

🍭Layers of Intimacy🥞

Research on
Present Time Composition (PTC)

Layers of Intimacy is a research on composition and improvisation in intimate encounters. It’s a choreographic approach to understand and create qualities of togetherness. How and why do we make our choices in s*x? How do we move from one phase to the next? What intelligences and skills are important in that intimate process, and how do we train them?

If we look at s*x as a social, usually improvised, highly nuanced bodily performance, this everyday practice moves close to other sensual, aesthetically complex and pleasurable performances. It can be analyzed, learned, differentiated by the same means. In Layers of Intimacy, we work as a group in the studio with the improvisation method PTC by Dr. Alan Bern, which makes the knowledge fund of compositional theory from music and dance accessible for improvisation. It is a clearly structured and socially aware approach. The goal is to create an empowering methodological work (an improvisational method) that is sensitive to power and gender dynamics and differentiates intimacy in its physical practice. We want to understand how we maneuver intimacy with each other: this has relevance to both professional settings (for example in rehearsal contexts) and personal interactions.

In brief: Layers of Intimacy thinks composition and s*x together.

🧡

We invite you to come and spend quality time with your gorgeous q***r ge****ls, together with other fabulous q***r ge****ls.

We (Ayo and Hugo) are motivated to move beyond the binary expectations of what our ge****ls are supposed to do, look, feel, smell or taste like. We wish to create a space for understanding our history - where does it come from, that so many of us are carrying heavy shame and disconnection from our ge****ls? A space for re-writing our narratives, and celebrate what is longing to be celebrated - shyness, slowness, softness and vulnerability are especially welcomed!

With somatic and creative practices, we invite you to this brave space of sharing your personal stories and potentially showing your body in a space facilitated with love and compassion.

🧡

What will happen:

🧡Sharing and self-reflection
🧡A mini-history class on q***r non-binary ge****ls
🧡Giving the voice back: a Show-and-Tell from the perspective of ge****ls. Being naked is optional.
🧡Reconstruction of your ge***al narratives and a somatic group celebration

We finished this amazing book together. We had a closing ritual and went through our high- and low-lights doing the last 15months with this book!!! I have learnt about my own white linage, my history, my ancestors. My own bodys racist reactions and about my shame and guilt connected to that. I have been held in my difficult feelings, by the other members of the reading group. By learning about racism through somatic practices, I have changed my perspectives and step by step, my behavior and actions changes as well. I am far from done with my own work on unfolding racism. I am dedicated to bring forward what I have harvested from the amazing work of and and to pass on this journey to other white people. EVERYONE NEEDS TO HEAL FROM RACISM. IT IS AN EMBODIED PRACTICE. WHITE FOLKS. WE NEED TO DO IT TOGETHER. WITH EACH OTHER. And yes, sometimes it is a bit uncomfortable. But it can also be very connecting, holding and life changing.

7 Trans and Nonbinary People on Why We Need More Trans-Inclusive Therapists 11/08/2021

7 Trans and Nonbinary People on Why We Need More Trans-Inclusive Therapists Many trans and nonbinary people report feeling alienated from therapists, even when they specialize in “LGBTQ+ issues."

19/07/2021

Alok Vaid-Menon is one of my heros when it comes to creating magical words and images about gender and community. Following them is empowering and inspiring. Thank you.

Today on I wanted to be vulnerable with you all. My entire life I’ve been harassed by the cis/hetero world. But if I’m being honest there’s no pain quite like experiencing vitriol from your own. These are a few of the countless messages I receive all the time from other q***r and trans people. I know that this is about internalized homophobia/transphobia, but that doesn’t make it any less devastating and painful. These really hurt 😞

There is an ongoing project of scapegoating gender non-conforming people instead of targeting the gender binary system. In the early 20th century masculine gay men started to use the word “q***r” as a way to distance themselves from effeminate fairies, who they blamed for homophobia because they wouldn’t comply with gender norms. After Stonewall in the 1970s, gay men distanced themselves from drag queens who they dismissed as “screaming queens” who were “too visible” and holding the movement back with their “flamboyance.” A couple decades later the gay movement threw trans people under the bus, only seeking employment protections on the basis of s*xual orientation because it felt like trans rights rocked the boat too much. Now here we are in the 21st century where non-binary people continue to be sacrificed by the trans movement in its pursuit of acceptance.

“Accept us because we’re like you and not like them!” I’m valid because “at least I’m not that!” What becomes evident is that people aren’t fighting for freedom, they’re fighting for privilege: the ability to take what has been done to them and do it to others.

Non-binary people aren’t the problem. The gender binary is the problem. This was not about what we look like, this is about what they feel like. Q***r/trans people should be able to look like whatever we want without being discriminated against. We shouldn’t have to adhere to gender binary norms to be real, let alone safe. Our acceptance shouldn’t have to be conditional on disappearing our difference.

An earnest plea: Please challenge transphobia, even when it comes from trans people. Protect gender non-conforming people. Interrupt the cycle of violence. Create a more kind and just world.
