Stark, blühend, weiblich und erfahren: vier Songwriterinnen führen durch eine musikalisch-poetische Reise mit vier Klanglandschaften und vier Innenleben. Sie zelebrieren Eigenständigkeit und Verbindendes gleichermaßen und hofieren die Unverwüstlichkeit der weiblichen Seele. Mit einer kraftvollen Botschaft an alle Frauen und ihre Lieb-Haber:innen geben sie dem Ungehörten eine Stimme und möchten Gleichgesinnte, Suchende und Verstehen-Wollende beflügeln. Ewige Jugend? Unerreichbar. Währende Schönheit? Definitiv da, im Hier und Jetzt.

Strong, blooming, feminine and experienced: four female songwriters lead through a musically poetic journey with four soundscapes and four inner lives, celebrating independence and unity in equal measure and courting the indestructibility of the female spirit. With a powerful message to all women and their lovers, they give the unheard a voice and seek to inspire the like-minded, the searching and those wanting to understand. Eternal youth? Unattainable. Lasting beauty? Definitely present, in the here and now.

A glimmer of hope. Some weeks ago I found this heart-shaped potato and vowed to let it sprout for all the people suffering as a result of the horrific events in Israel-Palestine. It has sprouted, as if the vessels of life refuse to succumb to the ongoing terror, even though the heart has crumpled as to show all the hurt and vulnerability people find themselves in in the aftermath of this unprecedentedly violent and destructive war. Today's news of the retreat of a substantial number of troops fills me with new hope of first steps towards finding a sustainable solution that must bring along lasting peace and security to all people in the region. 6 months of devastation is enough. Decades of oppression and terror are enough. I am grateful for organisations like .together.movement , their work is invaluable.

I've gone a little quiet over the last couple of weeks. Just now I came across this heart-shaped potato. I'll keep it as a reminder of how beautiful our world could be. And I'll let it sprout - for all the hostages and the thousands of thousands of people dying or suffering because of relentless bombardement, starvation and disease. In the hope that after darkness comes growth.

Here we're choo chooing through some truly majestic mountain scenery in the Salzburg region.

This is Kim Esther Roloff . She did an absolutely stunning job playing the viola on Falling In Love, which is out one week today. Did you have a listen yet? You can find it on all major platforms. Kim was put to the near impossible task of playing a part that is actually in the tonal range of a violin - the softer, a little darker sounding viola is usually played in lower registers. Playing those high notes as heard on Falling In Love is hugely difficult and the fewest of brilliant viola players can do it. Kim mastered this wonderfully. We are in absolute awe of the result. Way to go, Kim!

Die gebürtige Österreicherin Mateja Kert hat mit ihrem Bandprojekt & The Raw Beat dieses Jahr ihr Debütalbum Bones’n’Stones fertig gestellt. Inspiriert von Wüsten- und Swampklängen wechseln sich hier Punkrock und Dunkelballaden in frischer Manier ab. Ihre rauchige Stimme wurde schon mit der Wildheit eines Tom Waits verglichen, während das Album musikalisch eine Nähe zu PJ Harvey, Nick Cave und den Queens of the Stone Age aufweist. Auf mädchenradio präsentiert sie ihre zweite Single THE GARDEN, die am 27. Oktober 2023 erscheint.

UPDATE: Dear Berlin friends, I managed to source a super duper vintage monitor (THANK YOU Johannes Stern ❤️!!). Now I'm still looking for an old style keyboard. Most important would be the protruding keys, grey coloration and spiral cable would be a bonus but not a must. Anyone have something like that in a forgotten cupboard to lend for one day?

Need help with this prop for my upcoming video shoot! Any ideas where to get a lend of something like this in Berlin?

Last day of (main) vocal recordings at the The Famous Gold Watch - AudioVisual Studios . The gorgeous photos were shot by the lovely and very talented Viktoria Byt (do check out her work!). In the second photo I'm listening to instructions from Cameron James Laing during piano takes (I don't remember, maybe I was breathing too loudly or bumping my head off the microphones!). I post this as we listen in to and make notes to the string parts which went through a first edit by the amazing Brian Trahan (thank you so much for adding your expertise! 🙏) The making of this album was a long but eternally rewarding process. We're gonna do the last of the main vocals and pianos today. It's so exciting coming closer and closer to the home run!
