The author and activist 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗶 𝗦𝗻æ𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 will be a speaker at Staatstheather 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆. He attended a ceremony with other mourners in Iceland that commemorated the loss of Okjökull, a glacier which died at the age of about 700. It was declared dead in 2014 when it was no longer thick enough to move. By 2017, 56 of the smaller glaciers had disappeared and in the next 200 years all our main glaciers are expected to follow the same path. The mourning ceremony´s opening remarks were by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗝𝗮𝗸𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗱ó𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗿 the prime minister of Iceland, who then lead mourners walking up the volcano northeast of the capital Reykjavik to lay a plaque which carries a letter to the future (seen in the photo). "𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘴𝘺𝘮𝘣𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵" said 𝗠𝗿.
