Kudur, as a collective, came together through a mutual love of Turkish pop and an appreciation of Middle-Eastern and Mediterranean musical cultures. The Mediterranean region has sustained a multitude of civilizations, and languages throughout time and we are drawing inspiration from the idea of crossing boundaries between genres, borders, and generations. We are trying to highlight the junctions of music, culture, and politics with our events. The sonic/cultural map we want to draw reflects the fluidity of exchanges.

Making space for the community and keeping a musical archive of the musical backgrounds and roots we are coming from is our priority. As qu**rs, we are well aware that the archives presented to us are fiction. As people who have had to deal with the fiction of a socially prescribed normativity, we want to keep our archives and create worlds.

From Friday to Sunday, Seanaps Radio accompanies the events of Seanaps Festival, goes into conversation with artists, presents sound art works and radio plays, and broadcasts live radio performances and concerts. The live radio program aires daily from 12:00-17:00 from the Temporarium in the Westwerk. Seanaps Radio can be heard online on Sphere Radio and locally via FM on Radio Blau in Leipzig (99.2), Radio Corax in Halle/ Saale (95.9), Radio T in Chemnitz, and via online stream on Cashmere Radio.

The eighth edition of the Seanaps Festival will take place in Leipzig from September 19 to 22, 2024. With The Ongoing Now, the festival focuses on various current artistic positions and their individual or collective practices. The invited artists will explore and present various contemporary aesthetics based on experimental and participatory practices in concerts, performances, DJ sets, interventions, workshops, and listening sessions. The selected approaches will circulate between the respective artistic practice and the recipients, thus setting not only current but also future impulses in experimental music, culture and its further development.

Abseits des Mainstreams entstanden in der DDR und BRD echte Perlen deutschsprachiger Musikgeschichte und jede Menge rares, erheiterndes und teilweise obskures „Gute Laune Gold“.

🎶 Konzert von Cuatro Piraguas:

Die Cuatro Piraguas (Kanus) verstehen sich als Träger*innen verschiedener Melodien und Rhythmen Lateinamerikas und der Karibik, die aus Zuneigung und Respekt gegenüber ihren Ursprüngen eine Verbindung zu unserer Gegenwart suchen. Mit ihrem vielfältigen Repertoire, das sich aus der traditionellen Musik Kolumbiens, Venezuelas und Brasiliens zusammensetzt, laden die Cuatro Piraguas zu einer Klangreise ein, auf der sie mit ihren Kanus über Meere, Flüsse und Berge paddeln.

vom 28.02. – 04.03.2022, jeweils von 10-16 Uhr, setzen wir uns mit der Frage auseinander, wie digitale Vermittlung Kulturakteurinnen und -akteure stärken kann.

In den Räumen des Zentrums für immersive Medienkunst, Musik und Technologie in Leipzig (Zimmt) bringen wir fünf Tage lang Menschen zusammen, um sich auszutauschen und neue Konzepte der Kulturvermittlung zu erarbeiten.

Dem Thema und den Umständen entsprechend möchten wir die geschlossenen Räumlichkeiten des ZiMMT mit Hilfe digitaler Technologien interaktiv gestalten und öffnen.

Dazu brauchen wir euren Support:
Als digitale Teilnehmende helft ihr uns mit euren persönlichen Erfahrungen, zentrale Fragestellungen anzugehen:
- Wie können virtuelle Räume helfen, ortsgebunden und leicht zugängliche, gleichberechtigte und nachhaltig finanzierbare Strukturen zu schaffen und zu festigen?
- Welche Voraussetzungen müssen dafür auf gesellschaftlich-struktureller, politischer, ökonomischer und technischer Ebene gegeben sein? Wie können diese praktisch erreicht und umgesetzt werden?

Der Fokus variiert dabei von Tag zu Tag:
- Tag 1 (28.02.) – Einleitung & gesellschaftliche Dimension
- Tag 2 (01.03.) – politische Dimension
- Tag 3 (02.03.) – ökonomische Dimension
- Tag 4 (03.03.) – technische Dimension
- Tag 5 (04.03.) – Konzeptworkshop

Zu den ersten vier Themenblöcken setzen Expert*innen mit kurzen Vorträgen Impulse. Danach laden wir die Teilnehmenden zu einem strukturierten Erfahrungsaustausch ein. On the 5th of February, another European Lab x Sphera took place in Budapest. These multimedia platforms are specifically directed at new generations and came together to put on a one–day forum for all the future changemakers. Therefore, climate activists, journalists, creators of today´s independent cultural sector came together to share their work and their visions, to discuss their role in supporting tools for young people, and to sketch out desirable collective perspectives for the year 2022, proclaimed the “European Year of Youth” by the European Commission. Simon from sphere radio took part to talk about the project and to discuss the role independent media platforms perform in supporting tools for young people.

From February 28 to March 4, 2022, 10am - 4pm, we carry out the think tank State, Structure & Future of Streaming together with .club at .i.m.m.t.

Over five days, we develop new concepts for digital cultural exchange.

We examine culture in the digital space from four interlocking perspectives, consisting of the social, political and economic dimensions as well as promising technical possibilities.

We invited experts to accompany us through the week with input lectures and stimulate exchange among the participants.

The findings and mediation concepts will be summarized in a final report and published as a participatory online encyclopedia at the end of the year.

Vom 28. Februar bis 4. März 2022, jeweils von 10-16 Uhr organisieren wir zusammen mit .club den Thinktank State, Structure & Future of Streaming in den Räumlichkeiten des .i.m.m.t.

An fünf Tagen erarbeiten und vertiefen wir durch den Austausch von Expertise und Bedürfnissen unmittelbar anwendbare Konzeptvorschläge zur digitalen Kulturvermittlung.

Wir betrachten Kultur im digitalen Raum dazu aus vier ineinandergreifenden Blickwinkeln, die sich aus der gesellschaftlichen, politischen und ökonomischen Dimension und neuen technischen Möglichkeiten zusammensetzen.

Expert*innen begleichten uns mit Impulsvorträgen durch die Woche und regen den Austausch unter den Teilnehmenden an.

Die erarbeiteten Erkenntnisse und Vermittlungskonzepte werden in einem finalen Erfahrungsbericht zusammengefasst und Ende des Jahres als partizipative Online-Enzyklopädie veröffentlicht.

2021 is done! We take the opportunity to look back with you on a few highlights of the last 12 months.

The Amt für Wohnungsbau & Stadterneuerung of the City of Leipzig has provided us with a container since July, which found its place after a spectacular delivery in front of the neighborhood center Ostwache Leipzig e.V. in Anger-Crottendorf. Special thanks go to Oscar and Adrian, who designed one side of the container in a workshop, and Tali Bayer for the pretty paint job; Franz, Hacki, Oli and Micha for the interior work; Lily, Wayra, Rachel and Lena for building the terrace and stage and Rico for welding all the great things!

We used the newly created infrastructure directly for our summer program "Leipzig Contains...?" - sponsored by Kulturamt of the City of Leipzig, the Stadtbezirksbudget of the City of Leipzig and Mühlstraße e.V. On four event days, art and culture makers from Leipzig transformed the square in front of the Ostwache into an interactive space with music and speech contributions.

But the best is yet to come: We are currently converting the container into our new studio, which can be used by anyone interested in radio. As soon as the studio is ready, we will let you know!

In the summer, we realized the event series "Cultural Affairs - Kunst ohne Grenzen" with the Grassi Museum of Applied Arts and the Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung. We accompanied the exhibition of the same name with live interviews and musical contributions in front of the Grassi Museum. The focus was on topics such as "Diversity in the museum context" or "Graphic design and literature from a (post)migrant & racism-critical perspective". Big thanks to all contributors who made this project so great and exciting!

Another highlight: at the 45th Leipzig Jazz Days, we broadcast selected concerts live on our radio station. In musical performances on the theme of "Body Time," musicians highlighted aspects of physicality in the context of music production and reception. Because as we all know: "Touching is so 2019."

Big News: Since this year Lukas and Amelie are working as Bundesfreiwilligendienstler*innen in our association. Among other things, they take care of funding applications, initiate cooperations, are part of our editorial team, and do important organizational work in the background.

But not only our team is growing: In the last 12 months, our association has grown by 28 new members. As a result, we are able to cover more and more of our fixed costs through membership fees - yay!✨

Our program is also growing steadily: Last year alone we added 39 new shows, live streams, podcasts, and other formats.

Of course, all this is only possible thanks to you - our listeners, broadcasters, and supporters. Thank you for your ideas, your commitment, your interest, and your support! We are looking forward to the new year with many new projects. Until then: stay spherical!💜

Thanks to Ostlicher Festival we got the opportunity to welcome one more artist for tonight: For the first live performance, we invited who is a freelancing performer, dancer and musician. Her music is moving around somewhere between experimental pop, oddly melodic sounds and is sometimes more joyful and sometimes a bit sad. Electronic sounds mixed with folcloristic sounds embeds singing and language giving you caleidoscopic vibes.

Sara Boroujeni is an Iranian multi-disciplinary artist & designer. Her areas of expertise are critical design, sustainable design, and material research. She has 10 years of experience working with clay. From 2013 the kiln-sculpture project started as a collective project with Majid Ziaee and other Iranian artists. Kiln-sculpture is projecting the craftsmanship through artist's skills, learning by doing, teamwork (engaging physically and mentally) in the whole process of work.

Sesiones del Sur begann als Jam-Session-Format für lateinamerikansiche Musik an verschiedenen Standorten in Leipzig unter der Leitung des Multinstrumentalisten Mauricio Vivas. Aus diesem Jam-Session-Format sind verschiedene neue Ensembles hervorgegangen, eines davon ist ein Zusammenschluss aus drei Leipziger Bands: Mayakan (West-Afrikanische Musik), Chipote Chingón (psychedelische Cumbia) und Amalaya (Fusion argentinischer und syrischer Musik(en)).

Music | A Tribute to Halim El-Dabh by Simon Clement (esclé)
In fascination for the outstanding work of Halim El-Dabh, we will get to hear a compilation of pieces compiled by Simon Clement (esclé). 
Halim El-Dabh was a musician, music ethnologist, mastermind composer, agricultural engineer, professor at Kent State, Howard, and Haile Selassi University.
He has conducted ethnomusicological research in Egypt as well as many African countries. Within the African Diaspora, his research includes Brazil, Jamaica, and the United States.
