This month the brigade hosted staff from SDDC headquarters and all three battalions for training and collaboration on hand held terminals.

The week session centered around GATES and ICODES systems used for cargo tracking. Training together created opportunity for cross-talk, sharing best practices, synthesizing coordination, and building skillsets to optimize organized port operations throughout the Indo-Pacific.

Team, please meet CPT David Osgood, currently serving as a 90A, Logistics Officer, with 1st Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment “Red Lions” and his daughter, Trista, a Senior at Lakes High School.

Originally claiming Monterey, California as home where David and his wife are from, Trista was accepted to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point and will soon follow in her father’s footsteps.

“At the end of my Sophomore year into my Junior year, I decided to apply to West Point,” said Trista. “I was looking at schools like MIT, but also trying to figure out how I was going to pay for college. I already knew I wanted to join the Military, so I decided to look at West Point. I am interested in pursuing Engineering, and West Point is the Nation’s first Engineering School and has served as a model for other programs. My Dad’s career has influenced me because he really values his people, and that’s something I look up to and want to carry with me when I serve.”

Together, the Osgood family has lived in several countries and across five states, and in their free time, they enjoy spending time outdoors together.

“I am super proud of this girl for what she has done and what she has gone through,” said David. “It’s very humbling to me to have gone through all of this and the struggles that occur in the Army, and still have her want to follow in my footsteps to join in serving. It’s very reassuring that I’ve done it well and with my family’s support. As Trista moves on to attend West Point, I hope she gains a further sense of purpose and can build a community of like-minded people. West Point will provide her with a unique experience that is unparalleled anywhere else.”

David will change out of command after Ghost Brigade returns from the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California, and then move on to attend Graduate School, before working at the Ethics Center at West Point.

Trista will graduate High School in June, attend Cadet Basic Training in July

Recently, the United States and Saudi Arabia conducted a joint military exercise that showcased both innovation and modernization.

The primary focus of this exercise was to counter Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) in real world conditions.

Our sustainers executed convoy operations that were essential to ensuring the training audience received mission critical supplies.
