Suckower Eiche
The 700 - 1000 year old oak tree stands on Usedom on a prehistoric burial mound. It is one of the largest trees on the island with a height of 20 meters and a crown diameter of 30 meters.
Its trunk circumference is also about 20 meters. Unfortunately, it is now in danger of breaking because it has been attacked by fungi. 2 strong branches have already broken off.

Botanical Garden Berlin
The show greenhouses were built from 1899 onwards according to plans by Alfred Koerner.
The Great Tropical House is the largest column-free building of its kind in Europe.
The 15 show greenhouses contain an impressive collection of plants.
In the Victoria House, for example, the giant water lilies Victoria amazonica and Victoria cruziana with their floating leaves up to 3m in size can be marveled at.

Trabrennbahn Mariendorf
Mariendorf trotting track
located on the outskirts of Berlin was completed in 1913 according to the plans of August Endell. In the 1930s, 1960s and 1970s, other structures were built that still exist today. All in all, an interesting architectural ensemble. Once one of the largest and most popular trotting tracks in Germany.

Prora, Rügen 2010
When I visited Prora in 2010, it was a great experience for me. The largely abandoned building complexes invited to explore. And behind the dune a wonderful Baltic Sea beach. A revisit with the camera should be worthwhile in the meantime, because quite a few things should have changed.
Built between 1936 - 1939 but never completed, the KDF Seebad Rügen was intended to provide vacation accommodations for 20,000 people. However, WW2 prevented its completion. Some parts of the structure were converted into barracks for the NVA in 1950. From 1990, the buildings continued to deteriorate until 2004, when they were sold to be converted into apartments and hotels.
