We’re beyond excited that today, we’re introducing the first part of a short “behind the lyrics” series for our upcoming EP “Unspoken Memories”!

Playing and writing music you love makes only one part of being in a band. Because there is so much more you can do. You can tell stories about yourself and your life, you can appeal to the listener - you can basically draw attention to anything you like and may inspire people!

“First In, Last Out” tells the story about what some of us in the band are doing for a living and how life in the event industry is like.
Maybe you heard or read about being the “first in and the last out” during the corona pandemic - stories focussing on the ones working in the event industry, especially during the last couple of months. We wanted to draw attention to the fact that these jobs, our jobs in the event and entertainment industry are serious business!
Only a few understand exactly what’s is like being part of this exciting community. Only few people know what we do, how we spend our time and what’s it’s really like being part of a crew behind the stage, working with what we love most: MUSIC!

“First In, Last Out” tells this story from one perspective: how it is really like working at concerts and music festivals: Being the first one who begins early in the morning and the last one getting out of the venue very late at night - long after everyone else has left!
There are no free weekends, because most of the weekends you have to work.
You travel a lot. It’s difficult to keep in touch with our families, friends, partners. It’s hard to have and maintain relationships.
From time to time you doubt if this is the right thing to do. Sometimes it feels like you are falling, but then you rise again and again - because you get a lot of positivity and energy back from those around you!

But maybe you can find parallels to YOUR life and can relate to our song in some way! Just like waking up from your mobile phone on a sunday morning when someone’s calling you for an urgent matter...

About two and a half weeks until the release of our debut EP, which is called “Unspoken Memories”! 🏞🌇🌉

We are really looking forward to finally present you our first songs after many weeks and months of hard work!

The corona pandemic has had an extreme impact on all of our lives!
Karo, Leon, Alex and Marc - we all work with or in the event industry and, like so many of us, we have not been able to live our normal, accustomed life since march 2020.
During this time many people were locked down at home and waited - full of hope - that the pandemic would be over soon.
We decided to use the time creatively and founded the band “Head Up North”!

Since we are all from the same german town Wuppertal, we ran into each other a few times in previous projects or in Leon’s and Marc's recording studios.
There were plenty of song ideas and first tasks were to bring those ideas to a common denominator, to unite our tastes and then to implement them in our recording studios!

We are excited and we are happy to tell that we already have become a strong unit long before our first release on September 3rd, 2021! 🚀
