Hello my dear ones,
today I will finally publish a post about me.
Who is actually behind Vanijya, some of you know, but some do not. That's why it's time to introduce myself. I am Nimi, 26 years old and come from Germany.

Actually, I didn't want to introduce myself at the beginning, but many people persuaded me to show myself and secondly, I stand by Vanijya and want to convince you of Vanijya.

A few words about how I came to this: When I was young, it was normal for me to get traditional
clothes from my parents or relatives.
For every occasion, be it a wedding or a birthday, we often bought new things for ourselves. I never really realised how expensive it was... I have to say I have 2 sisters, so we weren't so bad... We didn't wear something new to every event, but as some know, it's already common to wear only 1 or 2 the saree or similar in the same circle.

Well, let's get to the real point. In the Corona phase, I would often sit in my room and rearrange my wardrobe and try to sort out my stuff and realise how many traditional clothes I had and they were just lying around in the wardrobe.... and that's when I got the idea and asked my family and friends if you think desis would ever pay for second-hand sarees, lehngas? Many replied: „why not, if it works for western clothes why not for traditional clothes.“ So I started to think about how to implement it and tried to get the best out of it.

We are not at the end. I know this journey will be a long one. As I know how hard it is to convince people to buy second hand. What I just want to suggest to you, is it really worth buying a saree or a lehnga just for one or two times and then leaving it in the wardrobe?

I hope this story is not only inspiring, but also creates a connection and a sense of trust - when you buy from us, you are not only buying a saree, you are helping the world by reducing waste and promoting rewear. Because what's wrong with wearing a lehnga from another fashionista's wardrobe?

Since we are still restructuring a lot or even setting up, we always look forward to ideas and feedback from you!

With love Nimi 💙✨
