i‘ve decided to change my dj name.
when i started djing 7 years ago, i didn’t think about where this could lead me, i just wanted to play music. so I also didn’t put many thoughts in my dj name and just kept my soundcloud user-name. since then it’s always been genelelle.
but apparently noone really knows how to pronounce it - especially non-german people -, that’s why I decided to shorten it to genelle (seems like many people pronounce it that way already anyways 😅).
so as you can see, no big changes, everyhing else stays the same.
same sound, same me 💁‍♀️

Nebula Podcast 050 × genelelle

After many nights spent dancing, genelelle found her way behind the decks in 2017. Starting with Melodic Techno, she quickly discovered her dedication for faster and darker sound and has found her place-to-be in Hard Techno for now. Her sets are influenced by EBM-Techno, Industrial, Rave and Trance – creating an impulsive and energetic atmosphere.

Together with friends she founded her own collective polyphon, which has established its reputation with various underground parties - first in Passau and Munich, followed by events in genelelles new hometown Leipzig in 2022.
As co-founder of the feminist initiative fem*vak, genelelle is fighting against sexism in the electronic music scene while claiming more space for FLINTA* artists.
