Between these two pictures, 8 years have passed. Turn your passion into a hobby and from there into a profession/job. The ultimate goal is to live from your passion, because it will never feel like work, even if you work 14 hours or even more. Be consistent, because it's not a fckn sprint, it's a long ass marathon. If you quit once, it becomes a habit. Never quit.

Take a step back, look at the situation and say that it is no longer worth it anymore.
You don’t fail until the moment you raise the white flag and say: I can not do this.

If you’re moving forward, you are not failing. You can not be working towards something and failing at the same time. It is impossible, because you’ll always learn.

Keep going whatever fckn hard circumstances you have. You’ll definitely outplay failure if you work towards your goals.

Yo Producers,

my production tip #13 is here and today I want to show you guys one of, if not the best loudness meter plugin in the game and it’s totally free!

It’s called Youlean Loudness Meter 2 and what it does is that it shows you the exact integrated and short term LUFS of your track which is super important when it comes to releasing music on Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube.
It also provides you the Momentary, Short Term and True Peak Max which is important for Mixing/Compression decisions you make.

It’s also very important to know how loud you are because every streaming site has its own LUFS which they prefer for the sound material.

Hope this plug-in helps you guys in your music production!

Yo producers, we’re already at production tip #12!
Today I want to show you guys my favorite Sidechain Plug-in which is from and it’s called VolumeShaper.
(Or, if you bought the complete bundle it’s the Volume Section of the Shaper Box Plug-in)

On the top left side of the plugin, we have our frequency band. You can set up multiple frequency bands to sidechain different spectrums if that’s your specific case, which is a super dope advantage between other sidechain plug-ins. The wheel on the top right corner is the dry/wet wheel.

The most important one is the yellow lane in the middle. That’s how your sidechain curve looks like. You can change it with presets in the buttom left corner or do your own by clicking into the field where the yellow curve is so you can set up your very own sidechain curve. That was actually the biggest point why I choose this plugin over other sidechain plug-ins or compressors.

You can set it to trigger mode so that a midi trigger will get your sidechain signal if the kick is not on the grid or you can set it up for a 4/4 type of beat. You’re very versatile with this sidechain plug-in!

Drop a fire emoji if you’re also using Volume Shaper/Shaper Box.

Heavy producing fellas!

Yo Producers,

This week's production tip #11 is about the LFO Tool from XFer.
This tool is so versatile that I really can’t tell all the functions in this post so I’ll get over, in my opinion, the most valuable ones.

First of all in the top left corner we have the exact same filter selection like the ones you have in the most famous VST called Serum. This is huge for sound designing purposes. You can choose which filter on which frequency you want to have in your sound (Split in the bottom right corner).

Other than that we can trigger it with midi notes to do sidechaining our kick to the bass and other sounds.

The top right corner section is the lfo routing section. You can set up to 12 different lfo’s in only one LFO Tool plugin and with the up and down arrows you choose which one you want to use for your specific purpose.

If you use lfo 1 for panning and lfo 2 for the filter cutoff then you have to switch the numbers and set your depth accordingly to the right target.

LFO Tool is also a nice way to clean up sounds that are coming out of Synthesizers because it has way less latency than the whole synthesizer in your DAW so the lfo’s are getting way cleaner and way more accurate.

Hope this week's tip helps you guys in your production.
Best

Hey guys,

Wow, we’re already at #10 of the production tip series and I hope you guys like that!

Today we talk about my favorite mastering compressor from Waves the API-2500.

This is a software analog model compressor from the hardware compressor API-2500, which is one of my favorites for mastering because it adds warmth to the signal and not just compresses it like usual compressors.

The API has the simple Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release k***s like most of the other compressors have, but it also has the tone section in which you can set your compressor to the “taste that you like”. Hard Knee and Loud Thrust will get to the edge of the compressor and squash the signal with a bit of a distorted sounding tone and a Soft Knee, Normal Thrust will do suttle and slight compression to the signal.

For the master, I do not more than 4db of gain reduction and a 2:1 Ratio because this compressor is for glueing everything together and to make it sound like one piece of music.

I hope that helps you guys in your mastering process and DM me if you have topics you think I should help up and coming producers more specifically!

Happy Producing!

Hey guys,

today I return with a new production tip and we‘re about the 30Hz Brickwall Cut this time.

In the picture above, you see a Pro - Q3 EQ from FabFilter which has a brickwall cut at 30Hz.
Why should we do this on the masterchain?

Sometimes you choose complex samples and you modify them with plugins to do sound design stuff. In any way, we mostly don’t know, these plugins are creating peaks around 20-30Hz which we don’t want to have when we mix or master our tracks. These peaks are affecting our compressors, or other plugins which we use for mixing or mastering, in a bad way. If there is a huge peak around 25hz, our mastering compressor starts to compress this huge signal first, but we don’t want this, so we cut this at 30Hz to get a more transparent compression of the whole track.

Keep that in mind while you’re mixing and mastering your tracks. If you cut below 30Hz your compressors will get way more transparent.

Hope this tip helps you in your music production and if you have some tips for me to make this production tips better, leave it in the comments below!

Whatup producers?

This weeks production tip #7 is about how to make your drop stand out more with Ableton’s stock Utility plugin.

Just automate the width at the beginning of your buildup from 100% to 80% to center the sounds a bit.

We’re also automating the gain from the beginning of the buildup til the drop -1.5db to get on the 1st beat of the drop a better impact, to excite the drop and to let it stand out more.

I hope this easy trick makes your drops more impactful.

Unsere Geschichte

Tim, known under the alias of “GNOWLY” was born and raised in Karlsruhe, Germany. He bought his first controller and a producing software early in 2013 and started to produce electronic music. While he’s producing his own songs and playing in some clubs with his friend, he realized fast: “that’s what I want to do as a professional”. In March 2017, Tim began to study that at ICON Collective Music Production School in Los Angeles, where also Jauz, Nghtmre, Makj, Slander, Kayzo and more came from. Later in 2017 he started with his own branding which combines heavy bass-lines and crazy hitting drops in the world of bass music.
