Had a most wonderful concert yesterday at Scena Kolegium Rungego in Poznań, playing a solo recital in the first half followed by Chopin’s 2nd piano concerto with conductor dr. Mateusz Sibilski and concertmaster prof. Henryk Tritt. All this would not have been possible without the fantastic organizor and human being Paweł Antkowiak 🤩 Thank you all for this beautiful experience and memory. 🙏🎹

Happy to share a new project I have been thinking about for a while! I’m going to learn Bach’s Well Tempered Clavier Book 1 and 2 in a span of 2 years. These two books have been essential to how classical music developed and how composers were affected by Bach’s writing. Starting today on my 28th year birthday 🥳 I will be learning 2 Prelude and Fugues per month and since there are 24 of them in each book, one book will be done in 1 year and the other one by year 2 🤗 So hopefully I will be done by the time I turn 30 😅 Obviously I have played a few of them already, but I would still like to repeat the ones I’ve played before. This project is purely for my own pleasure and exploring, but might become a part of some concerts in the future! See you on the other side 🎹

Was an honour to be invited by The Polish Ambassador in Denmark, Antoni Falkowski, to a gathering of young professionals. Yesterday we had a most enjoyable day at the Embassy of Poland in Denmark and I met alot of fantastic people from different fields. This also gave me the opportunity to connect with Jaroslaw Galuba, who is the Third Secretary and Public and Cultural Diplomacy - down below a picture with him in this beautiful place where the embassy is located. 🤗 Thank you for a great meeting and until next time ☺️

Had a most wonderful day here in Sirmione just by the Garda Lake in Italy. A day off from piano, and on Thursday I start masterclasses with Piotr Paleczny at the university in Brescia. Cant wait to try out some new repertoire 🤗

Had a lovely time playing in Odense yesterday in this beautiful hall of the academy! Also had the pleasure to accompany the amazing singer Christina Herresthal 🤗 now off to Italy for masterclasses with dear Piotr Paleczny ✈️

This came to my door few days ago, and it’s a sculpture made by the fantastic artist Friederike Zeit Narum .a.zeit.narum who lives here in Arvika and was my first landlord when I moved to this place in 2015. I wrote to Friederike few months ago and asked if I could buy a sculpture from her, but then she generously offered me to make it as a gift - saying it’s for all the music I have shared with her for the last couple of years. Apparently music has been a huge inspiration to her work, and this is amazing to hear how art connects! It will suit very well to my new place in Copenhagen 🤗 I’m so happy and thankful for this beautiful piece of art and if you want to know more about Freiderike, please check out her sculptures, it’s absolutely fantastic 😍

Our 2 day residency in Geneve with the Gabriela Montero Piano Lab has come to an end and I would like to share some thoughts about the whole experience.
Being an artist is a beautiful thing and for me it’s a way of expressing my personality and passion for music. But I have the feeling that we often end up in some kind of “bubble” of expectations, tabu and perfectionism. Often we see Academies and Conservatories make the whole process of the growth of a musician into a “factory” and competition and I believe many things should change in that sense. Of course we should always strive to become the best version of ourselves and not lower the standards of professionalism, but I feel we often neglect many other parts of how it’s possible to grow as an artist. Lets be honest, being a musician is already such a difficult path in itself so why keep on making things harder?
And now to the point of what I experienced here in Geneve with Gabriela Montero. Her passion and love for music is one thing, but it really strikes me how genuine and empathic human being she is. Not only does she show us how to play piano, but she teaches us some absolutely essential values in life. And the most beautiful thing about the whole thing was that no one was being judged. She takes each single pianist and makes them valuable and unique. It was one of the most beautiful feelings at the concert, to see how each individual could show who they really are, and all of the performances I heard gave me such a joy and happiness. It’s so valuable!! And it was also such a pleasure to talk to all of the class about literally everything and genuinely support each other. One sentence that stuck to me during my time in Geneve was: ”Allow yourself to show your vulnerability”. And that’s exactly what I feel we are missing everywhere. Because we have created this “perfect music world”. So what I really want to say is, that we should stop being so god damn proud, and allow ourselves to make mistakes and be human. This is how we grow, and we all deserve to have a voice as an artist ❤️ Share your work, share your failures, share your passion and love!
I want to say thank you to OAcademy for making this happening, and of course to Gabriela Montero and her husband Sam for everything they are doing. And to all the lovely pianists in the Piano Lab. You are all amazing pianists and human beings, thank you for showing YOUR story 🤗😍
