US Road Trip West - Ranum Efterskole
We will look at the giant cities and the desolated surrounding landscapes. How can they supply water and energy and still conserve land for future use?
Thank you to all that showed up today, it was really great to see all the presentations🌍✈️🇺🇸
Boarding, we are delayed, again, but we cannot wait to see our families❤️
Our flight is 15 minutes delayed as of now...
Arrived in Amsterdam after a bumpy flight🫣😅
Ready to leave USA.
Last full day in LA was spendt shopping in the Outlet village, but we did squish a little culture in. We drove the the very first McDonald's and saw some of the different mascots the place has had. We finished off with a farewell dinner at Ruby's diner. Now the big question is... how much can we fit in our bags and what do they weight 🙈
Another busy day, first a walk in downtown LA before or time to the Infinity mirrors at The Broad, lunch at Rasing Cane's (by public demand) Giffith Observatory, driving through Beverly hills before ending our day at Santa Monica Pier 😅 Now we need a good sleep before our last day tomorrow 👍
You can plan for most things, but the weather is never one of them... We woke up to a lot of rain, so we decided to postpone Griffith Observatory till tomorrow. In stead we went to the walk of fame, our last trip to Walmart (🤞) and then vi decided to treat the students to a movie: American Fiction. Now some are enjoying some time in the room, while others are trying the pool area🥶
Et minde fra USS Midway🇺🇲🫡
Saturday we arrived to San Diego, Where we started the Night of with a pool party and pizza afterwards. That was a Night to remember (firemen came;))
Sunday we went to the USS midway where we spend multiple hours hearing about the ship and talking to the veterans. We made a new friend, Bill, who gave us all a pair of golden wings. We will definitely remember him for making our trip to the USS midway exceptional.
After that we went to see the Mexican border, but unfortunately the park was closed. But we did see the fence, just in the water.
Then we headed towards LA, the city of angels, our last stop on the trip, where we will spend the next 4 days before we head back home to Denmark.
So much has happened in a short time. Phoenix has been so special, especially because we got to visit a former REC-student and her family. We have learnt so much about the school system and how it is to live in America.
We have had some really fun experiences visiting ASU (Arizona State University) and trying their virtual reality program - a new way of learning, visiting Chaparral High School, where students have no breaks during the day except for lunch😳
But the biggest American moment was the bull riding. Talking about cowboys and craziness 🤠
On Tuesday we left Las Vegas on our way to Kingman Arizona. We made two stops on our way with amazing views. Pictures can't justify how huge and amazing Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon truly are.
The time is now 21.15, and the students asked to go to bed😜 Life is good🇺🇲
All onboard, ready for Las Vegas🛫
❤️Tak for et dejligt møde, nogle flotte fremlæggelser og en hyggelig stemning❤️
❤️Thank you for a lovely presentation day and a wonderful vibe in the room❤️
Our flight from Amsterdam is a little delayed. We have all boarded and is expecting to be in Aalborg 15-20 minutes later. Looking forward to see our families very soon🥰
Waiting in the airport. Luckily one of the skater boys got a skateboard after all😄😄
A bit of breakfast before leaving for Denmark🇩🇰
The last day in US were spent in Los Alamitos High School and then we went to Citadel Outlet for some shopping before returning to Denmark tomorrow.
We had a last dinner at Rubys diner🧋🍔
These students have now begun their first day of High School🤩
Today has been another good day in the US🇺🇸
First we went to Griffith’s Observatory and got an amazing view of LA and the Hollywood sign. Then we took a walk on Walk of fame.
Last but not least we met up with the teachers and students from Los Alamitos at a bonfire🔥
Tomorrow we will be joining them at school🤩
We have arrived in LA⭐️
Godmorgen fra Needles☀️
Temperaturen bliver bedre og bedre…
Dagen har vi tilbragt i Las Vegas🇺🇸

In only a few days we have gone from a sunny San Francisco to a snowy South Lake Tahoe to Bishop.
