On Thursday 07/12/2023 a group of year 5 students met a year 4 class from the Berlin school ‘Grundschule am Insulaner’. The Berlin students introduce our students to the German children feast ‘Nikolaus’ and the tradition of the Advent calendar. While our students showed them the decoration and traditions of Ramadan and Christmas in Egypt. The students were asking a lot of questions to each other. It was an amazing experience.

In English this half term Year One have been learning all about Paddington Bear an iconic famous Bear. Paddington Bear is a fictional character in children’s literature. The friendly spectacled bear from “Darkest Peru” – with his old hat, battered suitcase, duffel coat and love of marmalade sandwiches has been an inspiration to Year One students and the children have really enjoyed reading and writing about him.

Students are fully immersed in these KS3 maths classes in their lessons, using tablet applications like MyImaths, Blooket, Pearson Active Learn platform, and more, to explore 3-D shapes, plans elevations, and more maths topics.

We invited Key Stage 1 Children to talk about what they have learnt about bullying.

To celebrate the end of our ‘Say NO to Bullying’ learning experience and SEAL theme, we invited Key Stage 1 children to come dressed as superheroes. The idea behind dressing up as superheroes is to teach the children to ‘BE A HERO AND TAKE A STAND AGAINST BULLYING!’ and ‘BE A HERO AND REPORT BULLYING’

To celebrate the end of our ‘Say NO to Bullying’ learning experience and SEAL theme, we invited Key Stage 1 children to come dressed as superheroes. Some children were dressed up as real-life superheroes; whilst others dressed up as fictional superheroes. The idea behind dressing up as superheroes is to teach the children to ‘BE A HERO AND TAKE A STAND AGAINST BULLYING!’ and ‘BE A HERO AND REPORT BULLYING’ It was an absolute joy seeing all KS1 children’s creativity with their costumes for this special day.
