What’s the third wave of coffee? 🤔 The term “third wave of coffee” was coined in 1999 and became a rapidly growing trend. Focusing on the variety of coffee flavors, the third wave of coffee is all about making the consumer feel unique. Using single-origin coffee that is sourced from a single producer/farm, typically identified by their country, region, and elevation they are grown, each showcase complex flavors unique to its origin. Roasters also shifted from dark roasts to a lighter roast, allowing for the variety of flavors to shine through the coffee. . Moving away from automatic espresso machines to focus on the craft of brewing individual cups of coffee. Presentation with latte art is just as important as the quality of the coffee to create a multi-sensory experience for the sophisticated tastes of specialty coffee drinkers.
