This is a concept sketch I did way back when I was putting together ideas for my “squirrel” characters. Early on we knew that we wanted to have a cast of real life models portray the characters at Phoenix Comicon so originally I was going to draw the pinups to the likeness of each model.

Here I practiced sketching a Jessica Nigri design who we had approached to join the project. Though Jessica did end up representing Macy in cosplay for the project, untilmately we decided not to use direct likenesses of each girl and focused more on creating unique looks for each girl.

Initially each squirrel character was also designed to be wearing the same outfit; babydoll tshirt with the “Mike DeBalfo” logo printed on each shirt and shorts as seen here. Had another go at little painting in Procreate. This time this little lady was inspired by Mildred Ratchet and her amazing wardrobe!! 🤩😃🤩
