Today, Friday 22nd is our Christmas Raffle draw. We will at el Restaurants el Comienzo from 1pm., to eat at 2pm. You don't have to have lunch if you just want to join us for a drink. The draw will be at approx 3:30pm, so still time to come and buy tickets if you haven't got any yet.

I am in The UK until next week so I don't have the full list of prizes until I get home but today we have had another amazing donation from our very own local author Sabina Ostrowska. She is kindly donating two of her books. Last week our fantastic local chef The Big Gay Al donated some lovely Spanish treats (the last 2photos) and Afternoon tea for 4 . In addition to all thus there is a Turkey, and Christmas treats, leather bags, bedding and lots lots more. Raffle tickets available at Sabariego carboot on Sunday. Don't forget our Christmas get together in 22nd Dec, at Bar El Comienzo in Ventas del Carrizal. We will be drawing the raffle and we have live music. If you want menu al dia, let us know asap because we have to let Jose know how many tables we need. Menu Al dia us €10.50 inc a drink. It's going to be a fun afternoon,.

RBL South Jaen Christmas Raffle has had some amazing donations. In addition to the photos there will also be a turkey and possibly some extra British treats if I can get to s shop before I come home. Last call for Remembrance Breakfast reservations. Derek Hamer will be confirming the seating tomorrow for Breakfast. Anyone who would like to join us please comment below or contact Derek Hamer. You are still welcome to come along even if you are not having Breakfast. We would like to have everyone seated by 10.30am, ready for 11am Spain time

Remembrance Sunday breakfast will be at Moreno's in Castillo de Locubin on Sunday 12th November 2023. Breakfast is €6, not including drinks.

We will be observing the hour at 11am and 12 pm to coincide with the UK.

What a amazing day we had yesterday at Bailey's Bar. . The Christmas dinner was lovely and the atmosphere was fantastic. Well done everyone who came in the Christmas spirit. What a lovely display of Christmas jumpers and glittery dresses. If anyone managed to get any photos could you send them to me and we can all vote on the best outfit. Not sure how much we raised yet. Thank you everyone who helped, esp Tricia Bailey, who worked very hard to make the day perfect.

Bailey's Bar are serving Christmas Dinner on 18th Dec. After the Dinner we will draw the Christmas Raffle.
We have even more prizes now thanks to everyone who got in touch yesterday. We will be selling tickets at the Car Boot on Sunday at Sabriago. If you cannot get to the car boot you can buy tickets at Bailey's Bar in Ventas del Carrizal. Nigel Holmes and Derek Hamer will also be selling tickets. We have some amazing prizes, so don't miss out.

Sunday 13th.November 2022. We have been asked in honour of all ex and current service men and women to hold a
Remembrance Day Breakfast.
Derek Hamer on behalf of the British Legion will be your Master of Ceremony for this occasion. We will be honouring a minutes silence at 11.00am.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as we can.
A full English Breakfast will be served from 10.00 - 12.00.
If you have any special dietary requirements can you please advise us before the day.

update on our branch of the Royal British Legion, Royal British Legion, South Jaen branch :
We have already been granted permission from the Royal British Legion to set up our own branch of the Royal British Legion but we have had teething problems so things have moved a little slower than we would have liked. Our purpose is to offer help and support to ex-servicemen in our community. We are now planning our fundraisers for next year. Thanks to last years support of Poppy day, we raised over 300 euros for the Royal British Legion. A good amount of this total was raised in Bailey's Bar, which we are very grateful for. Poppies for this years appeal will be available from Derek Hamer or in Bailey's Bar, in Ventas Del Carrizal.

On Remembrance Day, Bailey's will be open for Breakfast, with a one minute silence at 11.a.m. Booking is advisable because we are expecting a good turn out.
We will be launching our Christmas raffle very soon. Any donations, however small are very welcome. The funds raised in the raffle will go to towards helping local ex-servicemen, our social events and local charities.
Our social events will be open to all but there will be benefits from being a member of the Royal British Legion.
We are trying to arrange a get together to discuss our Royal British Legion community's needs, and what direction we want to go. Everyone is welcome to come along to give your input because your opinion matters. Please message us if you are interested in attending.
