🔧Creating replicas of the famous Belgian "Blancs Moussis" masks from the Laetare of Stavelot Carnival in Liège.

💡 Work consists of making 6 masks to be worn by performers. They are made of card and paper maché covered and strengthened with calico fabric and glue.

Back in 2018 Commedia dell'Arte style masks (rubber latex and mask mould) were used for the actors playing the 'human' characters in the play.
The intention was to give humans a more sinister/threatening appearance to the 'animals' of the farm.

By far the most complicated to work on due to size and function of the pupppet.

Compromises and adaptations were made to accomodate actors entering and exiting through the mouth.

When completed, the paint finish was satisfying and worked well under stage lighting.

🎭It is showtime!
Opening night of Little Shop of Horrors and the debut of the first major commission for The Puppet Shed making the Audrey II plant puppets for the The Salon Varietes Theatre in Fuengirola.

Here is a commission of a large hybrid Aztec mask for a new bar which opened in Fuengirola called Cabaña Loca.

No project is too large for The Shed to handle!
