The following article is from the Age in Spain website with whom we work closely. It follows advice from the UK government to change your old paper residency document to a TIE card. This is because there will be changes at border control in October, and the TIE card will make your passage through border control quicker and simpler because it is a biometric card.
Exchanging your green card/A4 residency certificate for a TIE The UK Foreign Office recommend British nationals still in possession of a green Residency Certificate, to exchange it for the biometric TIE

DEMENTIA AWARENESS WEEK
Every person is unique and dementia effects every individual differently, with no two people experiencing symptoms in exactly the same way.
Symptoms also vary by type of dementia, with Alzheimer’s disease being the most common type of dementia.
10 of the most common warning signs are shown below and depicted in the infographic:
Memory loss
Difficulty performing familiar tasks
Problems with language
Disorientation to time and place
Poor or decreased judgement
Problems keeping track of things
Misplacing things
Changes in mood and behaviour
Challenges understanding visual and spatial information
Withdrawal from work or social activities
If these signs are new, they may be a sign of dementia. Dementia is not a part of normal aging. If you think that these problems are affecting your daily life, or the life of someone you know, you should talk to your doctor.

Mathew Martin Duggan (Doug) R.I.P.
It is with great sadness, that we inform you of the sudden passing of Doug at his home on Wednesday 24 April. He was a good friend of Age Concern since it began. He came along to our weekly coffee mornings in Los Boliches, as well as popping in regularly to chat with the volunteers in our shop. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, always a gentleman with a warm smile and a kind word. His family invites those who wish to pay their respects and say a final goodbye to attend his funeral on Thursday 2 May at 12.30pm, and afterwards at the Corner Cafe, Los Boliches. The service will be held at the crematorium in Las Lagunas.
