🇬🇧 One of the most amazing buildings I have ever seen.
The Pantheon is a former Roman temple and since the year 609 a Catholic church dedicated to "St. Mary and the Martyrs". It is one of the best-preserved of all Ancient Roman buildings, and I am counting the days to come back to Rome to visit again.

🇬🇧 Designed by the Perugia architect Guglielmo Calderini and built between 1888 and 1910, the Palace of Justice is considered one of the grandest of the new buildings which followed the proclamation of Rome as the capital city of the Kingdom of Italy. The building's unusually large size, astonishing decorations, and long period of construction created the suspicion of corruption. In April 1912 a parliamentary commission was appointed to inquire into the matter and it presented its findings the following year. The affair gave rise to the building's popular and pejorative nickname of Palazzaccio (Bad Palace).

🇬🇧 The church of Trinità dei Monti is a church in Rome, well known for its privileged location in the historic center of the city. It is located in the Spanish Square (in Italian Piazza di Spagna), one of the most famous squares in Rome. Its monumental staircase, built in the 18th century at the expense of the French crown, constitutes a grandiose setting that makes it one of the busiest and liveliest places in the city.

🇬🇧 The National Monument to Victor Emmanuel II, also known as Altare della Patria, is a huge commemorative monument of the city of Rome made in honor of the first king of unified Italy, Victor Emmanuel II. It is located between Piazza Venezia and the Capitoline Hill. It was designed by Giuseppe Sacconi in 1885 and inaugurated in 1911. It is built with white marble extracted from the quarries of Botticino. This was one of the monuments that most impressed me in Rome along with the Colosseum.

🇬🇧 The Colosseum (in Italian Colosseo) is a Roman Empire amphitheater built in the 1st century. Located in the east of the Roman Forum, it was the largest of those built in the Roman Empire and was active for almost 500 years, the last games in history being held there in the 6th century. The Colosseum was admitted to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1980, and since July 7, 2007 it is recognized as one of the Seven New Wonders of the Modern World.

🇬🇧 Inaugurated in 1761 after 30 years of construction, the Trevi Fountain is a Baroque-style fountain that represents Neptune, god of the sea, taming the waters. It is the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world. Coins are purportedly meant to be thrown using the right hand over the left shoulder.
