🥕Good nutrition is essential to healthy brain development in children which is, of course, critical to learning.

🚴Children who exercise regularly and eat healthily are likely to: perform better academically, feel better about themselves, their bodies and their abilities ❤️

17/05/2024

💪Good habits are best started early. A young child is naturally active, so build on their inclinations to use their body.

We are very happy to be together in 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞, Spain, hosted by our partners from Ribamar.

During 3 days the training week of the project will be taking place, where partners will bring out their theatrical improvisation techniques and prepare healthy traditional recipes from their countries 🥑🍑 🫛 🍒

We will keep you posted!

👨‍👩‍👦‍👦Research shows children are often more willing to eat healthy foods and be active if they see their parents and other family members doing these things first. When the whole family participates, everyone benefits.

Keep it a family affair by:

📆Have regularly scheduled mealtimes at home at least once a day.
❤️Make mealtime enjoyable, with flexible, healthy choices for kids.
🤸‍♂️Take walks together, or other simple activities, after the evening meal or on particular days of the week.
🌲Choose activities together that don't involve television or screens, like board games or outdoor games.

🥕If we were all fully responsible for the whole process of our nutrition, we would make this world a better place.

Our project 8 Ways to Save the Planet aims to instil in the younger population the ways in which they can help to achieve a more sustainable planet and on the other hand, to change their eating habits for healthy diets that will reduce obesity rates in European children.

22/02/2024

"Did you know that what we eat can have a significant impact on the planet? 🌍💭 It's time to talk about how our diet can influence the health of the environment! In our project , we teach children how to care for their diet while also caring for our home, Earth.

Join us on this journey towards a more sustainable lifestyle from a young age! 💚🌱

🌽It is the duty of adults to raise awareness among children so that they grow up feeling responsible for their planet.

06/02/2024

🍎Food is essential for our bodies, our economies and our communities—but the way we produce food right now isn’t always good for the planet.

🌽Feeding people doesn’t have to come at nature’s expense, though. Regenerative food systems actively restore nature while also ensuring we’re able to feed many generations to come.

🔎Ways to start eating less meat:

1. Reduce the size of your portion of meat
2. Switch from beef to chicken - it has a much smaller impact
3. Try a veggie option at your favourite restaurant or takeaway
4. Have a weekend without eating any meat
5.Try meat alternatives, like a plant based burger
6. See what a dairy free ice-cream tastes like
7. Switch to an alternative milk for your coffee or cereal

07/01/2024

It is our obligation as a society to raise awareness from an early age about caring for the planet, one of the most important factors being not to throw food away.

🥦A recent report from the EAT-Lancet commission, which establishes scientific targets for a global food system capable of supplying healthy and sustainable diets to 10 billion people by 2050, concludes that consumption of plants will need to increase by more than 100%, whereas consumption of meat, in particular red meat, will need to fall by more than 50%. The report also concludes that such a dietary shift would substantially reduce the incidence of chronic diseases and mortality, reflecting a win-win situation for both the environment and public health (Willett et al., 2019).

The EAT-Lancet Commission on Food, Planet, Health brought together 37 leading scientists from around the world to address the following question:

Can we feed a future population of 10 billion people with a healthy diet within planetary limits?

The answer is yes, but it will be impossible to do so without transforming our eating habits, improving food production and reducing food waste.

🌐Around a third of all the food produced for human consumption is thrown away every year. The CO2 emissions created during the production and disposal of this surplus food are damaging the planet.

✅But there are now many European initiatives around to help find solutions for this excess food.

We have retrieved this video from the youtube channel of European Commission

🌍Choose what to eat to save the planet

🌳Knowing the carbon footprint (production of greenhouse gases) of different foods allows us to better understand the impact of our food choices on the environment and climate change.

✅It also makes it easier to choose which foods to prioritise in order to eat healthily and sustainably every day.

🥕On the occasion of yesterday's International Food Day, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations ( ), launched a promotional video reflecting on the value of water.

🌎Our planet is called Earth, but its surface is mostly made of water. Water flows within us and is the driving force of all nature.

🌊Water is food, prosperity, energy, life. For centuries, it has been the basis of our nourishment. Yet today, too many people lack water, while others take it for granted. What we eat and how it is produced influences water availability and quality.

By transforming food systems, we can improve water efficiency and safeguard our oceans and waterways. Together, let's take care of our water and cultivate a sustainable future.

💧Water is life, water is food. That is why our project wants to encourage education from a young age so that more and more people take care of the planet and at the same time take care of and know what they eat.
