Growing up in late eighties, early nineties Bootle wasn’t the most prosperous of places. But having ‘The Realies’ soundtracking your formative years, you genuinely believed anything was possible.

These two brothers from just across the other side of Bootle Cemetery from where I lived at the time with my parents and sister, were performing incendiary live shows across the UK along with Sean Simpson on guitar and Tony Elson on drums, that could raise the dead!

An incredible live band way back then and still just as powerful over 35 years later.

And although my musical journey has lead me down many a long and winding road over the decades, there has only ever been two true constants along the way and The Real People are one.

Bootle’s finest and for me personally, one of the greatest of all time.
