*Agate Gemstone and Jewelry Care and Cleaning*
Agate can be cleaned very easily using warm soapy water and a soft brush. Keeping in mind that agate is quartz and its hardness and durability, be sure to not use any other objects that are harder than agate for scrubbing or cleaning.

As with most gemstones, you should not use any household chemicals when caring or cleaning your agate gemstone or gemstone jewelry pieces.

Agate should avoid any prolonged exposure to extreme of heat as it may cause permanent damage to the gemstone.

When storing agate, it should be stored inside a fabric-lined box or wrapped in a soft cloth. Agate should be kept away from other gemstones and jewelry to ensure unnecessary damage or scratching from other harder gemstones.

Agate belongs to the quartz (silicon dioxide) family of minerals. The quartz group is the second most abundant mineral found on earth’s continental crust, second only to the feldspar mineral group. All quartz gemstones share the same silicon dioxide chemical composition, but are distinguished and separated into two main branches based upon differing crystal classes and formations. The two main branches of quartz include macrocrystalline quartz and cryptocrystalline quartz; agate belongs to the latter. More specifically, agate is a variety of chalcedony, which includes a wide range of other gemstones, including chrysoprase, bloodstone, jasper and carnelian.

Agate is unique. No other precious, semiprecious, or ornamental stones can boast of so many types, species, subspecies and families. While every agate pleases the eye, warms the soul, excites the mind. Agates since ancient times. Pliny thought that the name of the stone comes from a river on the island of Sicily. And today on the banks of the river Dirillo, previously called “Achates”, it is easy to find coloured chalcedony (agate). Given that the ancient Greeks praised agate long before the epoch of geographical discoveries, it is logical to assume that the river got the name from the stones on its banks, and not Vice versa.

Rose Quartz Meditation

When you need a love refresher or are in deep turmoil and are craving ways to feel the abundance of love, this meditation can guide you back to your own inner wisdom. While you can quickly use this as a pep me up, you can also deepen your practice by lengthening your meditation to gain even greater blessings.

Place yourself in a quiet space free of distractions where you can lie down. Beds are awesome but will most often signal the brain to sleep. Lying on the floor with a mat is suggested to keep you present during the mediation.
‼Before you lay down, introduce yourself to the crystal (and please - Meditation clearing your crystal in advance is always highly encouraged!)

State aloud your intentions for connection and healing so the frequency of the crystal can support you there. Speaking out loud also invokes your larger Guides and Angel to offer their support of your space. Lie down and rest the Rose Quartz on your heart. Place it securely for you may be mighty distracted if it slides off when you are deep within. Allow yourself to feel the unique energy of the rose quartz. What frequency is it emitting? How does it feel? Visualize the soft pink color expanding from your heart, filling up each space with a more resounding sense of peace and love. Let this color and vibration move until it fills all of your body.
Bathe in the compassion and bliss for several minutes allowing this frequency to re-program your heart, mind, and body. When you've soaked up all the love vibes, place both of your hands over the stone.
With hands on your heart over the rose quartz, allow your breath to be your guide. Breathe in more love, compassion and peace and breathe out anything that hinders your access to your true heart field. You should begin to feel at one with the frequency of the rose quartz allowing yourself to slip deeper into her generous blessings.
Say aloud several times: "I am Loved. I am Love. I am the embodiment of the Light Within." Repeat this mantra until you feel electric with its truth. When you are complete, gently wiggle yourself back into your body and open your eyes.

✅Thank the rose quartz for her teachings and remind your heart that this is now your highest frequency. Acknowledging this shift will train your brain to lock in this vibration as a constant state of being.

2) Open-monitoring meditation.
In Mindful meditation, you focus on one specific thing ranging from your breathing, a specific sensation in your body, or a particular object in front of you.The key point is to focus on one thing without consideration to other thoughts or events happening around you. When any distractions occur, you must be quick to recognize it and turn your focus back to your focal point. Open-monitoring meditation is where you pay attention to all the things happening around you but you do not react to them.

There are many things in life that are beyond our control. However, it is possible to take responsibility for our own states of mind – and to change them for the better. ✅ Brain activity during meditation

Meditation provides experiences that the mind can achieve no other way, such as inner silence and expanded awareness. And as the mind gains experience, the brain shows physical activity as well—sometimes profound changes.

Beginning in the 1970s, studies showed that something was happening in the brain during meditation. In the last decade, the research has begun to show that meditation can also produce long-term structural changes in the brain. No longer is the “hard wiring” of neural circuits so dominant. The brain can alter its wiring in “soft” ways, thanks to a trait known as neuroplasticity, which allows new pathways and even new brain cells to appear.

Measurable changes in brain regions associated with memory, sense of self, empathy, and stress start to appear in subjects who practice mindfulness meditation for only eight weeks. A team led by Harvard-affiliated researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital reported these results in the first study “to document meditation-produced changes over time in the brain’s gray matter.”

What makes this finding so important is that it links how people feel when they meditate, with their physiology—the kind of proof that neuroscience demands. The old view was that meditators reported all kinds of mental and psychological benefits when in fact all they were doing in meditation was entering a state of deep relaxation. In the Harvard study, MRI scans were taken of the brains of 16 participants two weeks prior to the study and directly afterward. MRI images of the participants were also taken after the study was completed. It was already known that during meditation brain wave activity increases in areas like alpha waves. These MRIs showed something more permanent: denser gray matter in specific regions like the hippocampus, which is crucial for learning and memory, as well as in other areas associated with self-awareness, compassion, and reflection.

JULY - ROSE QUARTZ

Rose Quartz colors range from very pale pink through to deep pink, and all have that wonderful loving vibration.

Deposits have been found in Madagascar, India, Japan and Brazil, as well as in South Africa and South Dakota in the USA.

There are not a lot of quartz configurations that this stone naturally occurs in.

It is less often available as crystals, and is more commonly found in the massive form.

It may be translucent or transparent, although most pieces are fairly opaque. All colors and types have excellent healing qualities.

There is also a variety called Strawberry Rose Quartz, and many of these are deeper colored stones, as well as some lighter very beautiful orangey pink stones.
