To answer the question why there will be no more river walks or Apero sur lβeau in de rio Genal this summer is simply because there is no more riverβ¦
The tropical fruit farmers π₯π₯π₯ steel so much water from the Rio Guadiaro and the Rio Genal that is the equivalent of the yearly consumption of 40.000 people.
The irony is that in the big supermarkets along the coast you canβt find one local avocado π₯, all of them are imported from South America.
Together with the never ending building sites along the coast, the over tourism and promotion of exclusive beach clubs and luxury industry who funnel their money abroad as quickly as possible.
Our beautiful environment is disappearing at breakneck speed and we are losing more and more nature around us.
You can help make a difference by shopping consciously, supporting local businesses and asking your guests to do the same.
Socio-cultural tourism ensures that traditions survive and that later generations can also enjoy all the beauty Andalusia has to offer.

Next week Saturday we take the train once more to Jimera de Libar where we go swim in the Rio Guariaro and afterwards enjoy a meal in the amazing bar Alioli.

Yesterdayβs Apero sur lβeau was a big hit, enjoying homemade food with your feet in the river, little fish swimming by and we even saw a snake π swimming by.
On the menu we had: a welcome with cava, salmorejo, albΓ³ndigas en salsa de almendras, ensalade de atΓΊn, puntillitas, humus, tzasiki, tabouleh and a crisp ice-cold Verdejo.
Make sure to book your date in time as dates are becoming limited.
