I had the most amazing call with a struggling coach/healer recently.

What started as a friendly intro talk, you know, ... where are you from, what do you do, who do you work with in your business, ... turned into a mind-blowing experience for her.

The ‘where are you from’ part was easy, but when I asked ‘what do you do’, it went all over the place.

As she was talking, and talking, and talking, she explained about 5 to 6 businesses to me and wondered why she couldn’t get clients.
She felt desperate, overwhelmed, mentally exhausted, physically drained and had no idea what to do.

She’s not the only one, most of my clients are in that place when we meet.

So I did a lite business audit, trying to figure out where she was at, so we could take it from there.

As I was going through the basics of my business foundations checklist, she scored zero on all basics. Want some examples?
🎈Ideal client? Anyone who wants to pay me, or I’ll even do it for free, as she had been doing for months now, hoping they would magically start paying her at some point… (never gonna happen my dear)
🎈What do you help them with? Everything. Ooh well, whatever they want… And then she started listing all the NLP, hypnosis, supplements, and techniques that she used, anything she could help them with but had no clear answer.
🎈Do you have an offer? No (well helping anyone with anything was basically it)
🎈Pricing for the offer? Ooh, well, no. Hmm, yeah, I’ve been meaning to get to that…
🎈Time frame? Ooh well, whatever they want…
🎈A signature offer? Well, yeah, that would be great, right…

Do I need to go on?🤦‍♀️

I think you get the picture.

🥰 By the way, how are you scoring so far?🐤

But then we got into the second part: the business tools, where we check out how ‘online’ and visible her business really is.🏡

🎈How can clients book you? Well, through referrals (you know, referrals from the people who got sessions for free) and barter sessions (omg)
🎈How can clients pay you? Well, uhm, … Not. Yeah, I should try and set that up right, I heard about Paypall or something…?
🎈Do you have a Paypal account? Well, I guess but I don’t remember the password…
🎈Where can clients find you? Huh?
🎈Do you have an online presence? No… Do I need that? (well if you want to work online you kinda do)
🎈Where can they find your offer? Nowhere, it’s all in my head.

There was literally nothing, no offer, no contact information, no pricing, no nothing.

Or in short, she was the biggest secret and wondered why nobody was knocking on her virtual door to book her services.

She kinda got annoyed and frustrated with herself at this point. Got into very upsetting self talk, using words like stupid and worse.

Not a good vibe, so I thought, let’s turn things around and show her what’s possible so she can leave this call with a positive vibe.

So I gave her a behind-the-scenes look at my Kickstart Academy, where we set up the biz essentials and lay the foundations for a successful business.
Instead of trying to build a business on hope and piecing it together with snippets from a free challenge or the latest top tip on Insta, we set up your business organized from the start, create a signature offer your clients love and set up your essential biz tech pieces, so clients can find you, pay you and enroll automatically.

It blew her mind. 🌴

Seeing how she could make her business becomes tangible and visible, and grow beyond 1-1 sessions booked over the phone to a business with more freedom was life-changing.

💻Getting that visual image made her jaw drop. Time stopped for her as it sank in.

I like to use the analogy of the snow globe, where all the snow gradually starts to settle on the ground and you finally see clearly. That’s what happened. She just sat there for a while as all the pennies dropped and it started to fall into place.

💻Then I walked her through the roadmap, showed her the steps, and she understood why no clients were knocking on her virtual door.

There was no door to knock on.😨

To wrap things up, we visualized what her (currently basically non-existent) business could look like at the end of that 10-step roadmap.

She took a deep breath in and let it out with a deep sigh.

OMG!

She just sat there. Positively shocked and in awe. Trying to process it all.

It started to sink in why things couldn’t work well, even with all the time and effort she put in.

Because all her efforts went into the things that would not bring paying clients or predictable income.

Today, Thursday, May 25, is National Bike to Work Day. On this day, Belgians and Dutch leave their cars at home as much as possible, and take their bikes to work.
