My name is Jose Maria Gimeno, industrial designer and Creative Director at Summum Studio. This is Dune. Our first collaboration with Alexandra. A very special project for us because in a way it paves the way for the brand, and well, the creative concept on which the piece and the project have been built, is basically, that of sleeping outdoors, on the dunes. For this reason, this piece, which is the bed and forms part of a more ambitious programme, well, geometrically it is reminiscent of a sleeping bag that is cut and developed. In a way, showing the whole interior with a much more comfortable texture and a much more rigid and austere exterior texture.

This concept has led us to use or revive details, such as the buckles or certain details like the small tables, which are reminiscent of an explorer’s equipment much like a backpack. Somewhat inspired by films such as Out of Africa.
