Whether it’s how to vote, the contents of a bill, or one’s own rights, accessible information is essential to inclusive democracy. Accessible information is not only a right, but ensures that all citizens can make informed decisions and participate in the decision-making processes that affect their lives. Democracy, human rights, and governance (DRG) organizations have a responsibility to advocate for and ensure accessible information in their programming.
In the lead up to International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the National Democratic Institute (NDI) in partnership with Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening (CEPPS) is hosting a two-part series exploring accessible information - what it is, why it’s important, and how DRG organizations can better ensure that programming information is accessible. The first part of the series will feature speakers highlighting different forms of accessible information such as Easy Read, sign language, and Braille. Speakers include:

ከባዛሩ ጎን ለጎንም አካል ጉዳተኞች የሚያካትት የስራ ፈጠራ ፓሊሲ በኢትዮጵያ ለመፍጠር የፓናል ውይይት ተካሂዷል። ተሳታፊዎችና የሥራ ፈጣሪ አካል ጉዳተኞችም ውይይቱና ባዛሩ ትልቅ ማነቃቃት እንደፈጠረላቸው መግለጻቸውን ከድርጅቱ ያገኘነው መረጃ ያሳያል።

ከጥቅምት 1 እስከ 3 ፣ 2014 በተከታታይ ለሶስት ቀን ለአካል ጉዳተኞች (PWD) እንደ አገር በፈጠራ ሥራዎች እንዲሰማሩ የሚያግዝ ሁሉን አቀፍ የፈጠራ ፖሊሲ እንዲኖራቸው ለገበያ የሚቀርቡ ክህሎቶችን እና የግል ብራንዲንግን ለፖሊሲ ተሟጋችነት ለማሳደግ የሚያስችል በአይነቱ የመጀመርያ የሆን ስልጠና በሀገር በቀል የፈጠራ ስራዎች (Indigenous Innovation -I2) የበጎ አድራጎት ድርጅት ከCIPE ጋር በመተባበር ሰጠ፡፡
በስልጠናው መጨረሻ ላይ የስልጠና ተሳታፊዎቹ ድርጅቶቹ በስልጠናው ቀጣይነት ላይ እንዲሰሩ እና በኢትዮጵያ የኢኖቬሽን የፖሊሲ ማሻሻያ አካል ጉዳተኞችን ያካተተ እንዲደረግ ለአካል ጉዳተኞች ፍትሃዊ ተሳትፎ በመሟገት አምባሳደር ለመሆን ፈቃደኛ መሆናቸውን ገልፀዋል።
