Political Parties Act, 2012 (Amendment) Act, 2022

This is to inform all the current and potential members of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) that we are now set to begin the process of registration with the Political Parties Council in accordance with the Political Parties Act, 2012 (Amendment) Act, 2022, signed into law by President Salva Kiir Mayardit on 23rd December 2022.

The new law sets policies for the creation and legalization of Political Parties in South Sudan. Also, it creates the Political Parties Council, an independent body that registers and regulates all political parties in the country.

The NDA has received a copy of the new law and is in touch with the Political Parties Council, which is currently setting up its office according to the new law. The President of the Republic is also expected soon to issue a Presidential Decree reconstituting the Political Parties Council, where the council will immediately invite all political parties in the country, new and old, to apply for a “Provisional Registration” to be valid for six months, after which all parties holding provisional registration certificates shall be required to file for “Full Registration.” before being cleared to participate in the elections.

The law stipulates that all provisionally registered political parties shall be qualified to be fully registered after successfully recruiting as members not less than five hundred eligible voters from at least two-thirds of the States and Administrative Areas and at least 35% of the members of its governing body are women. NDA has already surpassed this requirement.

The Role of the Red Army (Lost Boys and Girls) in Combating the Coronavirus or COVID-19 in South Sudan

The leadership of the Red Army Foundation wishes the Red Army (Lost Boys and Girls) and their families all over the world a “Happy Easter Holidays”. Although these are trying times, we are confident that we will defeat the COVID-19.

History has shown that we have been tried and tested since childhood and through faith and determination, we have been able to overcome major obstacles, not forgetting that every crisis has its causalities.

During this crisis of COVID-19, we remind our membership that true leadership is best exercised during difficult times. The Red Army should rally together against COVID-19 under a united banner and find its rightful and useful place in South Sudan.

The Red Army Foundation through its medical agency, the Red Army Medical Practitioners Association has already mobilized its doctors, medical assistants, nurses, first aiders and volunteers and currently disseminating approved literature from the Ministry of Health on prevention of COVID-19.

At this time, we are appealing to all our members especially the Lost Boys and Girls in Diaspora to support the Campaign against the spread of COVID-19 by donating any amount of money you can afford.

We are also looking for volunteers who can raise funds online through GoFundMe – these volunteers will be directly connected to first responders on the ground.
