If you have a strategy for your Instagram, and Facebook posts already, but struggle with coming up with new stuff every day, here’s an idea:⁣

Approach it as you do with meal prepping, choose one day where you get a list of valuable topics you would like to cover, video ideas, etc, and create the content for the next week based on those.⁣

It’s sometimes hard to get into that creative mindset while doing everything else, so allow a block of time dedicated entirely to that, and get it done.⁣

This way you won’t have to worry about it every day, and you make sure you get it done.⁣

This approach has dramatically benefitted me, and I hope it can help you too!⁣

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞!⁣


Community is one of the most important aspects of the gym/studio, especially in terms of retention.⁣

The gym I go to had a Christmas event recently, and it wasn’t anything big at all, just some Christmas music instead of the normal tunes, and a small number of holiday foods for the members to enjoy if they wished to, that was basically all of it.⁣

Even with something so little, it created a really nice vibe for the evening at the gym, and a stronger feeling of community, rather than just a place you go to train at.⁣

This also affects strongly on your retention, when people feel like they are leaving a community, instead of just a place to get a workout in, the impact is MUCH bigger, thus drastically improving your retention.⁣

The point is, the holiday event doesn’t have to be anything fancy to be effective, and I highly encourage you to get something set up right now if you haven’t already.⁣

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲⁣



Whether for your Instagram or page, I highly suggest trying out engagement-driven stickers/features like the polls.⁣

They are a fantastic way of getting feedback from your audience and great conversation starters for new potential members.⁣

Using Polls, for example, you could post something like “𝗪𝐡𝐨’𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫” with the answers being both positive, for example, “𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐠𝐨!!” and “𝐈’𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞”⁣

When someone does click one of these, you can instantly 𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐃𝐌’𝐬, and go from there, if you have a decent-sized audience that’s engaged already, these should turn into a whole lead generation 𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 on themselves.⁣

Marketing 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐧’𝐭 be an expense for your gym.⁣

It should be a tool to generate more members and more revenue.⁣

If you are not growing predictably through your marketing efforts then something needs to be changed.⁣

Of course, killer marketing won’t save a horrible service/experience.⁣

But I would assume that that’s not the case for you.⁣

So, the point is, something is clearly wrong with your marketing if it doesn't produce new members, new revenue, and in our case, new-found time, with it being systematized and done for you.⁣

When you are on the phone with a lead, using the assumed close, you would ask “Would you like to come in Wednesday or Friday? Or, “Do you prefer a morning or evening class?”⁣

𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟⁣

“Would you like to come in and try the class this week”⁣

Basically, you are just assuming, that they are coming in already, and most likely they will if they are free.⁣

By settings these “𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬”, you are much more likely to actually book the people in.⁣

Whether it be signing up for a class from your ad, booking a free trial, or referring a friend, there should be one thing in common with all of these.⁣

Eliminate EVERYTHING that’s unnecessary for the prospect, and make it as easy as possible.⁣

Every extra step that you add, is just another chance of losing the interested lead.⁣

If they have to fill out a form and send you an email, just to hope to hear back from you at the end of the day, they probably already have forgotten about the offer by that point.⁣

Make it so the prospect doesn’t have to do anything extra.⁣

When it comes to gyms, studios, and other local businesses in general, most of them have no idea how to market, at least, how to do it as efficiently as possible.⁣

That’s where you have a 𝐇𝐔𝐆𝐄 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 over them.⁣

Even if you have not looked into it much yet, even just the fact that you are reading this post right now is a clear indicator that you will have an edge over them.⁣

Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Google, etc…⁣

Nowadays everyone is on social media, but not everyone uses Facebook for example.⁣

That’s where omnipresence comes in, that guy who’s not using Facebook might not see your ads, but he might see your TikTok, or youtube short, and look into your gym from that.⁣

Not only that, but if the prospect keeps seeing you literally everywhere, the chances of him taking action and checking out the gym/studio are drastically higher.⁣

For someone, it might just take 1 ad on Facebook and they sign up, for someone else, they might see you on 4 different platforms, and then make the decision.⁣

That’s why you want to be omnipresent.⁣

Gettings tons of leads is cool, but if most of those just get the freebies, and leave, then what do you get from that?⁣

Nothing.⁣

I still see tons of gyms having their ads just leading to their website, and not a landing page.⁣

It’s a huge mistake.⁣

Especially if your website isn’t really built to convert people.⁣

With a landing page, you can make it an ideal place for your prospect to see everything they need to see right away.⁣

Testimonials, the features of your program, etc, without them having to find out that info on the website themselves.⁣

It’s basically your website, but specifically, a page built to make the prospect book in / sign up right there and then.⁣

That’s why it’s SO crucial.⁣

Also, you can split test landing pages, meaning that you can test different variables, and see what works, with a website, it’s much harder to do that.⁣

Choose a movement, preferably a popular one, and show it’s done correctly, you can highlight the most common mistakes, etc.⁣

#𝟐 Nutritional advice, nutrition “hacks”, recipes.⁣

Easy replacements for high-calorie foods, snack ideas, and common nutrition misconceptions.⁣

#𝟑 After work-out thoughts.⁣

Take a few members, and “interview” them right after the group class, not super serious, how was the class, how long they have been a member, what type of results have they seen, etc.⁣

Adding eye-catching creatives/titles is always a bonus, as I mentioned before, Canva.com is a great tool for this.⁣

Recently I had a talk with a fellow gym owner, and the main problem was that in the area, there were too many big gym chains and too much competition on the pricing.⁣

They just couldn’t figure out a way of getting people to drive to their gym, instead of going to the big box one right around the corner.⁣

It’s a tough situation when you cannot afford to tank the prices even lower than the huge chains.⁣

However, there is a solution…⁣

Forget about the pricing, and think about the pig and the carrot.⁣

Think about your 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐑.⁣

What makes you stand out from the big chains, not in terms of pricing, but what’s something that you offer, and they don’t?⁣

If you don’t have anything, (which I highly doubt)⁣

You can always implement something.⁣

When you have a “𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐭” that’s perceived as very high value to your customers, they WILL make that drive, or pay that extra dollar for 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 gym.⁣

Are you constantly testing and improving your ads?⁣

Testing out different angles, offers, demographics, etc.⁣

Or have you been running the same 2 ads for the past month for your gym?⁣

If you have, then don’t be surprised when you don’t see results, or when the results you might have seen in the beginning start to slow down, and the ad spend starts to heavily outweigh the profit you get.⁣

To find, and keep finding winning ads, you have to work on it and test different approaches.⁣

Nobody knows what will work in a heartbeat, we have to figure it out.⁣

If you don’t have the time to do it, I wouldn’t suggest doing paid ads by yourself at all.⁣

Getting reviews, and testimonials can be a little hard.⁣

Be honest, how many times have you left a review, do you do so to every place you visit?⁣

And you won’t often be reminded to do so either.⁣

And that’s the problem.⁣

Ask for the testimonials, and the reviews, you don’t lose anything and have the world to gain, social proof is truly one of the most powerful tools for you.⁣

You can also just dig up your current member list, or database, and start sending everyone in there an SMS, reminding them to leave a review.⁣

Get those reviews flowing, and the google rank rising!⁣

A key element to having AMAZING staff.

Are the staff you currently have absolute rockstars?

If yes, then great!

If not, that certainly doesn’t mean they can't be.

As the owners, we have to continually keep training, developing, and encouraging our staff to do better than yesterday.

We have to give them the resources and guidance to do so.

If you aren’t doing that, you are not acting as a good leader and that’s just a fact.

The unfortunate reality is that if you don’t continually develop, train, and encourage your staff, you will most likely never have an amazing team.

As long as they have a work ethic, and want to continue learning, they will become A-players in no time.

I already talked a bit about having a Halloween event at the gym, but think of all the other opportunities you have soon, Christmas, new years, etc…⁣

Now is the perfect time to come up with some awesome community events to boost up those referrals to massive heights.⁣

Make it fun, make it free, and 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲.⁣

Have everyone invite a friend to come with them for example.⁣

They will get a unique chance to experience the community you have, and have a fun time at the gym.⁣

Most big box gyms bank on the fact that they show up a couple of times and then quit, while the membership fee continues to roll.⁣

You can be the one to bank on the fact that they are motivated, and that you are there to help them.⁣

After all, they already have a clear goal in mind, and as long as you can appeal to that, they will flock to you in masses.⁣

All that needs to happen after that is for them is actually seeing progress.⁣

The one 𝐊𝐄𝐘 point to having a referral system that works for your gym is to make it really easy for people to do it.⁣

Not only that, they need to have a good incentive to do so, a reward system.⁣

But how do you make it as easy as possible?⁣

Remove all the steps for them to take that are not crucial.⁣

Have a QR code that their friend can scan for example, just print it out with a design.⁣

And have rewards that they actually would like, if you don’t know what they would like, doesn’t hurt to get some insight on it, ask your members!⁣

Could be a discount on memberships, free swag, free class, or free anything.⁣

When the reward to do it is desirable and the process is easy, they will have a much better experience with it, and your referrals will grow.⁣

𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐇𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐒 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐲𝐦/𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬.⁣



We all know there are a bunch of tools out there nowadays, and some might get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff you are presented with, after all, we don’t need much, just a tool to edit our pictures, videos, and reels with without needing to pay a graphic designer to do it for us.⁣


Luckily, there are a few tools that I think are absolutely amazing and almost necessary for anyone doing their organic content themselves (which really doesn’t take much time at all when you get the hang of it)⁣

I’ll list some of them here:⁣

For graphic editing and your photos = 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐯𝐚.𝐜𝐨𝐦, it’s very cheap and has everything you need, you can assign a brand theme, create a content calendar, and much much more, however, the top feature of it for gym owners I’d say the number of free templates.⁣


For video editing = 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐂𝐮𝐭, it’s a completely free tool and has everything you need for editing your videos, of course, if you are proficient in using more complicated tools like premiere pro, vegas, etc, then by all means you can stay using those.⁣

(if you want a video editor that you don’t have to download at all, and can use in your browser, I’ve heard “𝐊𝐚𝐩𝗪𝐢𝐧𝐠” is very good as well)⁣


For typing your captions and typing, in general, = 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲, this tool you probably already know, but I’m not kidding when I’m telling you 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐄 should have it, at least for me, it’s a huge lifesaver.⁣


At the end of the day, you don't need much to create great content, some would argue that none of these are needed, but I’ve found them very, 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘 useful.⁣

When it comes to posting content and using social media effectively for your gym/studio, it isn’t really about the number of followers you have or the number of hashtags you use…⁣

The point isn’t to gather a huge audience of followers.⁣

It’s about nurturing people, who already have a slight interest in your gym by providing value to them, and showing them content that they like.⁣

𝘞𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘶𝘱…⁣

You don’t have to be the next Logan Paul, you just need to speak to your avatar, your customer.⁣

You use your social media pages as a tool, a lead generation “machine”⁣

But that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it, of course, you can, and you should!⁣

Recently, I had a case where a gym had been running the same ads, the same offer, for a very long time, and the results were diminishing,⁣

This is a very natural process, however, 𝐢𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐲.⁣

Depending on the location of your gym/studio and the size of the city it is based in, ad fatigue creeps up over time, people have seen your offer, and they keep seeing it over and over again and it won't be that exciting anymore.⁣

And of course, when it isn’t that exciting anymore, people won't be catching on to it like they used to.⁣

There is an easy fix for this, and you probably already know what it is.⁣

You have to change the ads and the offer up once they start seeing diminishing results, it can be done either via a whole new offer, or even just re-packaging the one you currently have, and just making a few tweaks to the ad itself.⁣

It’s this constant process of testing and optimization that will keep your ad game, and lead generation game absolutely top-notch.⁣

Getting a steady flow of new leads for the gym/studio is absolutely essential, but what if you don’t have a consistent one yet?⁣

Well, you surely should have an old list of leads you have contacted already lying around, I certainly hope you haven’t thrown it away…⁣

𝗪𝐡𝐲?⁣

Because they are still very valuable.⁣

Even if they were not interested in your current offer a few months ago, you still have the chance to contact them again, with a new offer, or just a reframed one.⁣

It’s highly possible that you will be able to convert them this time.⁣

So, dig up that old list, put together a new offer that people should not be able to resist, and go from there.⁣

You can repeat this process several times.⁣

After you are done contacting all of your old leads, you have a decision to make.⁣

#1 Wait and hope you get some new ones.⁣

#2 Build a sustainable and consistent pipeline bringing you tons of new leads and members every day.⁣

Or it’s a TON of content from the workouts, needing you to scroll through 30 videos.⁣⁣

Don’t get me wrong here, including videos from your sessions is amazing, but don’t overdo it, people will most likely stop caring if it’s the same content over and over again.⁣⁣

You can include a ton of stuff besides workouts, or promotional offers.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Don’t be afraid to show some personality as well, maybe something from your life as the owner, like a “𝘷𝘭𝘰𝘨” style thing.⁣⁣

Or, as I’ve talked about before, do a few questionnaires/polls.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Make it entertaining to scroll through, not tedious.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Memes, polls, workouts, personal stuff, member highlights, some promotional content in between, you get the idea, mix it up!⁣⁣

Sometimes, it’s easy to just flood the story and not really think about how it looks and feels for new people to scroll through, so keep it in mind.⁣⁣

Are you doing everything, but basically nothing at the same time?⁣


Running a few Facebook ads that are not really working, they just are there, google ads, SEO, TikTok ads, and maybe even YouTube ads? all the while trying to produce great organic content for all of the platforms.⁣

For most people, that simply won’t work, especially if you do it all yourself.⁣

Decide on one, and really focus on it, if we use Facebook ads as an example, don’t just put out one ad with an offer and then leave it there, hoping you get some more leads from it.⁣

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭.⁣

Test everything, see what works and what doesn't, and start scaling the ones that do.⁣

At the end of the day, doing all of this takes some time, and if you already have enough stuff to do, it might be really hard to nail down the process well.⁣

This is why some things you might just want to outsource.⁣

But if you do, make sure that you choose the right people for it, people who will actually get you results, and not just take a fee and leave you hanging.⁣
