“The decision to extend the closure tomorrow, is due to the ongoing challenges in water supply. These challenges affect the operational capacity of schools and pose risks to the health and safety of students,” said the Permanent Secretary.

Efforts are underway to address the water shortage, with water trucks refilling school water tanks. However, given the current situation and the priority of ensuring the well-being of students, it is essential for them to remain at home.
“A lot of disruptions have taken place in our schools recently and I affirm that all Heads of School and teacher adhere to Circular 43/2024 to cover up for the lost teaching and learning time,” said Ms Kuruleca.
All Heads of Schools and Teachers in these affected areas are to report to their respective schools tomorrow Thursday 28th March 2024 to meet with the MOE DRR Team who will be visiting to carry out survey on water storage facilities.
