Galerie Taménaga is pleased to announce an exhibition dedicated to the French artist Paul Aïzpiri (1919-2016). This retrospective will highlight the humor and tenderness that permeate the artist's paintings, where surrealism intertwines with childhood. Featuring a range of works from the 1950s to his most recent creations, this exhibition will be an opportunity to rediscover his stylistic evolution. It will also pay tribute to the deep friendship between Paul Aïzpiri and Kiyoshi Taménaga, shedding light on their unbreakable artistic bond since 1971 until the artist's passing. A unique opportunity to explore this universe where love, joy, and passion illuminate each canvas, in an atmosphere that is both familiar and timeless.

Hatch of peonies with a delicate rustle, rain of cherry blossoms, the quivering foam of a wave, aerial ballet of cranes; each artwork is an exquisite vision of the artist's eye and skillful hand. >> [ TAMIHITO YOSHIKAWA ]
Paris
Until 10 December
Galerie Tamenaga is hosting a solo exhibition of Tamihito Yoshikawa at our gallery in Paris. The exhibition will showcase new abstract artworks of Yoshikawa.
Born in Chiba in 1965, Tamihito Yoshikawa enrols on Musashi Art School to study oil paintings, where he teaches as a professor today. Yoshikawa established representation modes encompassing nature's evocation through abstraction. With his colours, harmonies, gesture, rhythms, and materials, the artist transcends the feelings, memories, and landscape he was inspired by. The sentiment is a crucial concept in comprehending Yoshikawa's works. He refers to his own emotions and the audience when they face the paintings allowing them to dive into the ocean of colours.
Yoshikawa grasps the moment in nature. It is said that there are 72 seasons in Japan; therefore, every moment is different with the ever-changing time. Nothing lasts forever, yet nature is timeless, with continuous transformation within its ecosystem and cycle. This philosophy of time and life is embedded into the paintings of Yoshikawa. He continuously returns to the same subject; however, it is always different, as nothing is the same as yesterday, and his act of painting is reflected by the feelings of the time.

>> [ LORENZO FERNANDEZ ]
Paris
Until 29th October
Galerie Tamenaga is excited to announce the reopening of the Paris gallery after its renovation. The gallery opens its new door with a solo exhibition of Spanish artist Lorenzo Fernandez.
Fernandez is a conceptual painter who reflects life and society through code and symbolism in his paintings. His incredible techniques deceive the eyes of audiences, and often they won't realise that it's a painting until it is explained. In that sense, the viewer goes through two enlightenment by encountering his artworks. One is the realisation of pure artistic technique that makes his paintings more real than real. The second is the decryption of hidden codes and symbolism containing intellectual wit to realise the world's social structure in Fernandez's gaze, which allow you to question and reflect on society.
