Jazz Bonus : Cuareim Quartet "A Jazz Story" Le Cuareim Quartet livre un single, Swing 21, d'un futur album intitulé "A Jazz Story" : un répertoire en forme de voyage dans le temps qui retrace une histoire du jazz. Sortie le 2 février en auto-production, distribué par L'Autre distribution.

🇬🇧 ♡ Lightness requires more effort than heaviness.
I am very happy to share with you this composition, taken from our album 'A JAZZ STORY.✮
This record is a reflection on jazz through a string quartet, and 'SWING 21' is my take on Django Reinhardt's jazz. This Parisian jazz, this 'gypsy jazz,' this ironic jazz, this elegant jazz, resonates with French composers and their subtlety and lightness. Through the way Django named his themes, like Swing 38, Swing 42, one can perceive the lightness with which he named them. A lightness and a certain irony that resonate with French composers and writers from Rabelais to Molière, up to Chabrier, Offenbach, and Ravel.✮

I take this opportunity to share two upcoming appointments with you ♡♡♡
- The album will be released on February 2nd.
- The release concert will take place at Bal Blomet on Thursday, February 15th for the Jazz Magazine evenings.

Je suis très heureux de partager avec vous cette composition, extraite de notre album A JAZZ STORY. ✮
Ce disque du Cuareim Quartet est un regard sur le jazz, à travers un quatuor à cordes, et SWING 21 est mon regard sur le jazz de Django Reinhardt. Ce jazz de Paris, ce jazz « manouche », ce jazz ironique, ce jazz élégant, dans lequel résonnent les compositeurs français avec leur subtilité et leur légereté. A travers cette manière de nommer ces titres, Swing 38, swing 42, on peut appercevoir la légereté avec laquelle Django nommait ses thêmes. Une légereté et une certaine ironie, qui font résonner les compositeurs et écrivains français de Rabelais à Molière, jusqu'à Chabrier, Offenbach et Ravel. ✮

We just spent a beautiful week in Berlin together, celebrating our 10 year anniversary!!!!! Unbelievable...

We spent many hours rehearsing, did some teaching and even some partying, meeting old and new friends. We got to play a few songs at home with our dear . And we played our first concert at the .

LOVE IS NOT A BROADWAY SONG - Cuareim Quartet
After emerging from the ancient wood of our instruments, captured by magnificent vintage microphones, and meticulously refined through the genius machines of Vicente Sandler, our new composition is now available on streaming platforms. It's been compressed, reduced, and listened to on tiny 1cm plastic internal speakers. However, we hope that the essence will come through, because the essence is poetry, and poetry can infiltrate anywhere.

Did you know that Miles Davis refused to record Ko-Ko by Charlie Parker?
Although Parker insisted him a lot, Miles told him he wasn’t gonna embarrass himself by trying to play a fast tempo he couldn’t do it . That’s the reason why Parker called Dizzy Gillespie instead of Miles for the recording.

Koko will be the only cover that will be released in our next Jazz Album,arranged by Guillaume Latil.

Siempre volvemos a Valencia.
We have been going to Valencia for many years now, it is one of our homes. Our last cd, which will come out in a few months, was recorded there too and is now getting the last touches by the magical hands (and ears) of our dear . 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

We hope to be back in Valencia soon to present it, and see all of our friends there.

1st time we performed was in Oaxaca ,Mexico in 2013 for .

We were very happy to find out that Naila has been choosed as the soundtrack of the movie “The happiest man in the world “ that was nominated for the Oscars 2023 as the best foreign movie.
