This poem i wrote, honours the forgotten, the women whose voices were silenced, whose grief went unseen and unheld. Sharing on Friday evening in our Women's circle, around Samhain, and under the Scorpio New Moon, a time when the veil is thin, when we honour the ancestors and our shadow selves, brings these hidden voices forward, giving them the space and reverence they were once denied.

The spirit we felt in the last New Moon Circle, and who came to me afterwards, became more than a presence. She was an invitation, a call to open ourselves to the unspoken and unhealed, to the stories and spirits that seek recognition. Her journey led me to her grave, to bear witness to the life she lived and the burdens she carried. In response, we placed a seat for her at our Circle last night, a gesture that says,
“We see you, and we honour you.”

Samhain is the Celtic New Year, a time for remembering and releasing, a time to touch the unseen and acknowledge the souls who walked this path before us. Scorpio, too, speaks to this descent into the depths, a sign that thrives in uncovering hidden truths, healing wounds that live beyond words. Sharing this poem was my way of recognizing that spirit, of telling her and others like her that their burdens are known, that they do not have to remain hidden in frost and shadow.

So, I read this to make space for the unheard and unheld, to acknowledge that for every one of us here, there are those who paved the way with invisible strength. I wanted her, and all spirits like her, to feel the warmth of a circle that welcomes them at last, and to affirm that the sorrows they bore, though hidden, now have a home. May this be a healing for them, and for us, as we honour the unseen paths they carved. We stand, together, a bridge of memory and strength, binding past and present into a living lineage of resilience.

For the Unheard, the Unheld

To the women whose stories are whispers lost,
Ghosts in the dawn, buried by frost,
To you who laboured beneath unseen skies,
Breathing in secrets, living in lies.

No sisterhood to call your name,
No arms that knew your wounds, your shame,
You bore it alone, in shadows you kept,
Where no one saw the tears you wept.

They called you silent, but you were loud,
In every way that you were bowed,
Each quiet step a thunder’s toll,
Each hidden bruise a mountain's soul.

You carried your grief like ancient lore,
Etched into your bones, down to the core
No hands to stitch your tattered seams,
No voices to share your silent dreams.

But deep within, a flame endured,
Though winds of despair left you obscured,
You were the stone, the earth, the ground,
Unseen, unknown, but always bound.

To those who wandered much like you,
Whose sorrows were hidden out of view,
For though you walked this path alone,
Each step you took was one of stone.

Laid down for those who'd come behind,
In search of strength, a thread to bind,
You built a road through fields of pain,
So others might not break the same.

So here, we honour your unheard song,
For you were righted, even when wronged,
Though no circle met you at the gate,
Your story is alive, it resonates.

Sisters unspoken, sisters unseen,
We see you now, we name the glean,
Of all you lost, of all you gave,
The silent power of the brave.

May this be your chorus, your place to stand,
A woven thread, an unseen hand,
For every woman who bore alone,
You are known, beloved, you are not stone.

For the past week, we’ve been cradled in the embrace of a farm in Glastonbury, where the spirit of the land whispered to us through our self-catering haven. We wandered sacred paths, to the Tor where ancient winds spoke, bathed in the healing waters of the White Springs, and found peace in the Chalice Gardens. The echoes of history surrounded us at Glastonbury Abbey, and in the Goddess Temple, we felt the divine feminine stir. Even the local cider brewery, Moons Cider, offered its own earthy blessings.

Today, we journey to Cornwall, where we will spend two days, then onward to the ancient stones of Stonehenge and Avebury, where time stands still for two more days. Our final night will bring us to Heathrow, as Rodger prepares to return to the U.S., carrying with him the magic we’ve gathered beneath this moonlit sky. ✨🌙
