I thought I’d finish this years posts with this beautiful (no filter) shot of the most spectacular sunset tonight on the shortest day of the year. Thankyou for all your support this year, I always feel blessed to have encountered such inspiring, interesting and energetic workshops hosts and of course attendees too, many starting the small business journey which reflects so much of what we’re about, and we plan on delivering many more creative, sustainable and re-skilling workshops during the Spring of 2024 and beyond. Taking a few months in Cornwall over the Winter is something we’ve wanted to do for ages and it doesn’t disappoint, 2 of our 3 children arrive tomorrow for a week of swimming, surfing, eating and laughing with extended family and friends. I cannot wait! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas with your families and a Happy New Year.
Thankyou to everyone who followed us in 2023, we really appreciate your support. These three gorgeous, inspiring and talented women found time to drink cocktails with me and celebrate working together. They all achieve ridiculous things from Gold medals at Chelsea and Hampton Court, to literally changing hundreds of business’ profiles through the power of Instagram, writing books and graduating from KLC this year. After several mojitos I made them promise to return to the Global Artichoke next year, and together with all our other fabulous workshop hosts we plan to bring yet more creative, sustainable and educational courses to you in 2024.
#2024

A very interactive morning with the brilliant Julia of will cover sowing both in and out of the greenhouse, aswell as some tips on preserving too! Her extensive knowledge and passion is infectious, so I for one can’t wait to welcome her. Have a great weekend everyone!
There’s no better time to learn how to grow your own vegetables than now! The brilliant Julia Parker is with us next Monday 7 th - we have a couple more spots left. With the cost of fresh produce rocketing, the therapeutic benefit of being in the garden and then the joy of harvesting and eating your own produce is such a pleasure!
I visited the stunning Jardine Plumes in Normandy yesterday with friends, a perfect Autumnal garden overflowing with colour, set in a beautiful orchard brimming with apples! I’ll return home today full of ideas to bring more grasses and loose planting to our home in Hampshire.
Our Queen - with us for all our lives. Your strength, dedication and loyalty will be missed
In the medicinal garden a combination of heavenly planting, wooden walkways and woven hazel borders the drought doesn’t feel so present. On a recent visit with family, I was bowled over by the gentle sound of a garden full of bees, a complete re-connection with nature and the wonder that all the plants present had medicinal qualities, something that is overlooked in many gardens. My quest at the moment is to offer a ‘Medicinal’ planting workshop in the spring. Watch this space!!
Biennials were a real theme at Chelsea this year, so if you’d like to learn more about how and when to grow them to add to new, or existing borders why not join Nick Tripp, the brilliant Hampshire based garden designer here on June 9 th. It’ll be an informative, interactive morning incorporating our greenhouse, discussing lots of tips and tricks to enhance your garden this Summer.
Having a wedding this year and you want to make it more personal? Why not join our morning calligraphy course on May 17 th with and learn how to write invitations and place names. Here’s a photo of marrying his beautiful bride Kirsty last July.
We had the most WONDERFUL day last Tuesday with who totally inspired us all to get cracking with growing veggies so that our gardens are bountiful not just in the summer months but on into the autumn and winter 🥕
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Julia's knowledgable, passionate and practical workshop made for a really interactive and interesting morning. Learning what to grow, when to plant, and how to harvest was just some of what was covered, and due to popular request Julia will be returning in September for another day.
