The recent rollback on net zero policies in the UK has raised concern about the country’s commitment to combatting climate change.

The Prime Minister’s move to postpone the ban on combustion engine cars and revisit the phasing out of gas boilers has generated widespread discussion and apprehension.

The price of scaling back green policies is substantial, casting a shadow over our environment and the legacy we leave for future generations.

Amidst these policy pivots, GBF remains committed to providing immediate solutions to curb carbon emissions, whether on the road, in our homes or within industrial sectors.

In light of this decision, we encourage the Government to join industry leaders and campaigners and consider incentivising clean fuels as a means to fast-track our progress towards net zero goals while preserving the foundations of our existing infrastructure.

Revealed: almost everyone in Europe is breathing toxic air 26/09/2023

Europe’s air quality crisis is undeniable.

The Guardian’s investigation reveals a public health crisis where 98% of Europeans are breathing hazardous air, resulting in over 400,000 deaths annually.

With PM2.5 levels exceeding WHO guidelines, countries such as North Macedonia are grappling with air pollution six times the recommended limit.

While the European Parliament’s commitment to adopt stricter WHO guidelines by 2035 is a step in the right direction, we cannot afford to wait.

To achieve cleaner air, we must explore solutions for the here and now.

GD+HVO offers a sustainable alternative to traditional fossil fuels, reducing particulate matter by up to 80%.

The Cornish hamlet exposing the flaws in the net zero oil boiler ban 21/09/2023

Going green shouldn’t have to break the bank.

Residents in rural Kehelland, Cornwall are making the switch to low-carbon HVO to heat their homes.

Not only are the residents reducing carbon emissions by 88% compared to traditional heating oil, but they’re saving money by avoiding retrofitting heat pumps, which will become mandatory by 2026.

As reported in the Telegraph, transitioning to this sustainable option can be made simple with a nozzle upgrade costing a fraction of the alternative renovation works.

This practical and cost-effective solution proves that greener choices are not exclusive to urban areas but can be accessible to all, including the 12% of homes in the UK off the National Grid.

Cornwall isn’t the only area embracing HVO.

Across the Celtic Sea, we are proud to have supported a school to become the first in Ireland to transform its heating system with our GD+HVO.
