Extracting honey is a sticky and messy business. One of the jobs is removing all the wax and other bits and pieces and usually this is done by filters. But they clog up very quickly and the whole line has to stop while they are cleaned and cleared. The other way to do it is using a honey sump. The particles rise to the top were they can be scooped off while the honey sieves its way through a series of baffles before being pumped off to the settling tank.
