What a week!! The nhs are completely overwhelmed, I was brought in by an ambulance and put on a bed and then taken off the bed and made to wait on a plastic chair in a&e for 18 hours before being moved to another chair in the surgical ward as they had no beds. Eventually after another night on a chair they found a bed for me, along with another 8 seriously ill patients who were on chairs overnight. When I was eventually admitted and put on my bed the doctors and nurses were amazing. As I was on the emergency list my surgery was pushed back twice as the surgeons were just so overwhelmed. I wonder how this is ever going to be a functioning system again, something major needs to happen in order to get order and structure back! Is this all hospitals or just stoke mandeville? I am grateful to the staff there for looking after me, my dad for making a lovely roast and Alina for bringing it in. My Sammy for getting a babysitter and coming to sit with me. My mum for looking after Harry and cleaning my house from top to bottom!! I even had beautiful new sheets to come home to and flowers and a special cook book! I am very lucky to have such wonderful people around me,a massive thank you for all the messages of love and calls!! here’s to a new happy healthy start to 2024!!! P.s I am now vegan 🤣❤️
