⚡️ Squeeze the hips to punch the knee and toes up and forward.
⚡️ Whip the hips to drive and punch foot through the floor.

Dowel rods are a great tool to increase chaos within the lumbo-pelvic area. Cueing athletes to stack there hips and develop correct posture, positioning and patterning technique.

How to coach sprinting? 🧐
It is often a question I get asked and I feel individuals see this as a mind-field of science and empirical claims!
Here is a breakdown of how we coach sprinting to field sport athletes.
⚡️Create compliance with the floor, look at the elasticity and how they tolerate compression in each stride.
Working on Pogos, foot contact drills (A series and Wickets) promoting the Whack and Rip nature required.
⚡️Positioning once we are compliant and elastic with the floor, we want to optimise the correct position and placement of the limbs.
This is the create the best possible force application and expression. This can be done through Dowel walking drills, wall sprints and video feedback.
⚡️ Patterning can the athlete pattern this together in a rythmic fashion, working on build ups and fly ins along with switch drills to create the best patterning.
Overall we continually focus on Posture throughout sessions.
Cueing and coaching from live events.
⚡️ A few weeks apart going from 13.2 mph to 14.4 mph! 🚀
Developing technical elements with acceleration and max velocity along with strengthening important physical qualities! 🤙
