The old school house, Bickington

Today, our ‘Old School House’ has gone to its new owners.
It is now going to be a lovely family home, once again.

Thanks to everyone who has stayed with us during the 4 and half years we have been running it as a holiday home. APPROX 1500 OF YOU !!!!

We have had so many groups of family and friends join us for different occasions…
loads of birthday get togethers, anniversary celebrations. Hen dos, golf holidays, walking holidays, surfing holidays, groups of nurses on a post covid chill, 2 weddings, and a family honeymoon. Even families meeting up from Australia and Italy. The house has been perfect for so many large get togethers.

It has been been our absolute pleasure to look after you all, and to meet so many lovely people.
We hope we have given you all wonderful holiday memories.

Been another busy year, meeting lots of new guests.

And we very proudly and gratefully reached our 50 th 5 star ***** review.

This year we have had the honour of having three beautiful brides get ready for their special day while staying with us. How lovely it has been to decorate the house for them.

So many special birthdays , including a 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th and 70th celebrations.
Lots of family holidays,
Paddle boarding holiday.
Golfing holiday.
Graduation celebration.

The house really has something for everyone.

We’ve had a very busy season again this year, with a few very special bookings…
A wedding party getting ready, and leaving from our school house, it was lovely to be able to decorate the school house for the pre wedding photos.

A very special family honeymoon,

A golfing holiday,

3 separate groups of nurses, enjoying a bit of quality time together, after all the covid stress.

Lots of special birthdays and anniversary get togethers,

Many long overdue family catch ups, with guests coming as far away as Australia.

It’s been a pleasure to meet so many new people, and to see them enjoying their holidays.
The house has plenty to do for all ages,with our revamped games room, summer house, covered hot tub, fire pit area, and a little tikes area for the youngest guests.

Happy New Year from The Old School House.

All laid up ready to welcome our New Years eve/weekend guests, who unfortunately had to cancel due to COVID.
But at least we finally managed to give guests a magical Christmas break this year, after last Christmas shut down.
Let’s hope that 2022 allows us to welcome lots more lovely holiday makers without all the restrictions and cancellations of the last 2 years.

Now to start work on revamping our games room and summer house ready for the new season.

The old school house is perfect for a large Christmas group to get together,
so large, so magical, and so cosy.

Thankyou to everyone that has visited us this year for a holiday or weekend break, it has been an extremely busy year, and our little team has worked their socks off to make sure everyone’s visit is special and memorable.

So disappointed that COVID restrictions meant families had their Christmas breaks cancelled and our guests didn’t get to see the effort we had put in to make their Christmas stays magical.
Let’s hope it’s a more normal Christmas next year.

Our gorgeous building back in the good old days. Bickington road was a bit quieter on the traffic front then !

Due to the rule of 6, we have had quite a few cancellations of larger groups due to stay in the next couple of months. So we have closed off the self contained annex and reduced our capacity and prices.
if you fancy a relaxing midweek break or a weekend away from all the surrounding madness, come and stay in a little bit of luxury and have some quality time, plenty of room for the kids to play, enjoy a dip in the steaming hot tub, (even better in the dark! ) or a relaxing night in the cosy lounge with beautiful mood lighting and a gorgeous woodburner, cuddle up and watch Netflix or play the family Games and puzzles supplied,
And when the Christmas decorations go up in December it will be even more magical.
